crap:confused:
ive got the buddyclub e-throttle booster, its da bomb... it does not give any increase in power, it just decreases or turns off the dbw that our car has.. thus increase responsiveness from the foot onto the pedal to the engine
buddyclub has the features of a dial controller to adjust the responsiveness.. i believe theres like 32levels of adjustment settings between the minimal to maximum setting, also the unit can be turned on or off
to be honest, the buddyclub is rather expensive.. a unit like this cost around 800.. and its from japan.. but once i had a trial run with it on my car, i can definately feel it, no more lag and even on the minimum setting the car revs more easily than before without the unit.
sprintbooster doesnt give u the level of control
blitz and shadow have 3 modes of dbw settings
i aint sure about the cusco
so in YHO, do u think its much worth it to spend 800 on BC then 400 on Sprint Booster??
and the others?
well i havent seen the others available for purchase in Australia yet..
any sources?
im really keen on getting this...is ur car FD1 or 2?
800 is the retail price for the unit, i got a cheaper deal but yeh its entirely up to u
i wouldnt really recommend sprintbooster since once u put it on, u cant turn the unit off, and u would have to take off the unit manual.. also it doesnt provide any mode settings of dbw control
nowadays, dbw controller have settings and modes coz people want to have a sense of responsiveness as well as keepin in check with their fuel consumption.. reason dbw on our civic is for fuel efficiency.
i believe shift performance has the shadow controller (made in taiwan) which is similar to blitz having 3 modes of control.. i know this coz i was there installin the shadow gauges and they asked me about my buddyclub and they showed me the new shadow product, theyve been looking for some1 to install their shadow dbw controller but i was lik nah, i already have the buddyclub
and i have an FD1
also, since purchasing the buddyclub e-throttle booster, ive never looked back.. its great
Is it really worth it to eliminate a bit of lag, intentionally put there to protect the engine anyway?
hehe.. i was fine before with the lag of the dbw, but when i trial the buddyclub.. i was like, i couldnt believe the huge difference
"TECHNICAL
Electronic throttle or drive-by-wire throttle systems utilise a sensor incorporated into the vehicle’s main Engine Control Unit (ECU) to translate your mechanical pedal effort into electronically modulated opening and closing of the throttle plate in the throttle body. From the factory, the ratio of pedal movement to throttle plate opening is governed by the ECU and is meant to provide the most reasonable compromise between pedal sensitivity and throttle plate movement. The e-Throttle Booster acts as a modifier of that signal, allowing you to increase or decrease the ratio at will, fine tuning the pedal actuation experience to the driving task at hand. With its fast microprocessors, the e-Throttle Booster can virtually eliminate the perceived lag between pedal and throttle plate; it also has the capability to modify the total angle opening of the throttle plate in real time, allowing more air (and therefore, more power production ability) into the engine intake tract Because of the method used to intercept and modify the signal, as well as the point in the ECU system where the signal is modified, the e-Throttle Booster will not be detected by the car’s OBDII system; therefore, the factory ECU cannot “override” your settings, nor will the e-Throttle Booster cause Diagnostic Trouble Codes."
I find the dbw sooo friggin annoying at times but i can't justify paying that amount. If it was around the same price as the spring booster I would look into it. But for that price money can be spent better elsewhere .. like coils that I want haha
the blitz and shadow dbw controllers should be the around 300-400 mark
Someone told me before that sprintbooster was a hoax? is this true?
Also guys hence I am not into engine's mod, but I have a question,
IMHO If you all spending hips amount of money on a civic just to boost the engine up, isnt it much easier and more efficient to just buy a natural born car that is built for speed? i.e. shrug i dont know twin turbo car? skyline R type, Lan Evo etc etc? I could be wrong but please enlighten me.
Jeremy Clarkson - Top Gear did say that the new Subaru is total poopy compare to the new evo lol.
i think most people just started off with a civic thinking.. nah not gonna go mod this out.. like me.. or maybe its just me?
But yeah im on redPs still =.=... full license = EVO! =D
civics just for some fun and gain some modding experience
once im 25.. possibilities are endless hehe
but in a few more years time, theres gonna be a tonne of civic mods available
hmmm is there any more power related mods such as branded extractors we can put on? or a exhuast system designed for the fd?
