Get fujita, same same but cheaper!
si is the same steven, both k20 cept ours are type r's with jdm goodness, will fit
Hey SuperSteve, how did you get on with the windscreen??? Looks like I'm going to need a replacement as well... I was driving back from Melbourne and the truck in front threw a stone into my screen. It hit just below the wiper on the passenger side and the crack started extending right before our eyes. The crack followed an arc similar to path to the wiper blade would make. We were sh!ting ourselves as we were still some 5 hours from Sydney and it was getting dark... Anyway it stopped after a while and we eventually made it back to Sydney. But it looks like I will need a replacement screen soon!!!
Dam sorry to hear about what happened dude. Ill keep you posted on the windscreen. All i know so far is that the windscreens are in the process of coming here. I will basically get a phone call when they arrive but ill keep phoning the person once every couple of weeks to get an idea how long we all gonna b waiting for.
im still waiting toooo
So there are a few screens coming? If so, that's good news indeed!
pics of fujita :)
so without causing a riot by different opinions but what intake does everyone think is best for EP3's
dosnt have to be in relation of value for money eighter
so injen will fit yeah hope so was checking injen also roughly 350ish atm from us
rpm boy-
originally i was gonna get a gruppeM with the group buy but not enough intrest atm
apparently the gruppeM has the best sound and better low end torque but the injen has the best gains all around i might just go for injen because its much much cheaper and better gains not as blingy as the gruppeM but yeah
Steve
Gruppe M FTW!!
Exxy yes but VTEC in injen does not compare to Gruppe M
I've got a injen at the moment but want to get Gruppm aswell, but the silly thing is I got a strut which blocks the location on the M intake which means if i get it i need to place the strut.
Intake sound - GruppeM
Intake roar - CAI
Ive had SRI, CAI and GruppeM and honestly be gain and value for money.....CAI easily!
Perry, I started with SRi then CAI and then GruppeM. Then I went back to CAI....reason, well for 1, I realised I just paid for bling!
Changed back to CAI, honestly there is not loss or gain in performance!
Only complaint people have with CAI is the hole that it leaves in the engine bay. But who cares when you're at the track or on the road....really.
My 2c anyway!
thanks for that guys i got a j's racing strut to fit a gruppeM but am decideding that i dont want a gruppem because of the price atm its just so damn expensive!! im leaning towards cai now more had my heart set on the gruppem but the sooner i get cai the sooner i get coils ;)
yeah man $350 for a CAI i'll go for it too.
BTW no one knows the stock spring rate?
Hey guys what you think about running
17x7.5 +45 rear 17x8.5 +50 front on our ep3?? will the rims come out of the guard alot?
Cheers Steven
Phil from memory they're some where around 4kg front and 5.5-6 rear.
DC5's are generally 1kg front and 1.5-2kg rear heavier!
thanks man. so it seems most JDM aftermarket springs uprate the rear much more than the front (comparatively). i guess to induce more oversteer.
i got all mounts in, feels soooooo shhhaaakkkyyyy, but i still get a noise from the steering column, would anyone no the issue here? my mech told me it was cause the mounts were putting stress on the steering column so it makes noises like rubber rubbing so its squeeky, would it be a seal around the column?
Yeah, I'll be using DC5 springs as they're a heavier rate :)
Its been said various times that after market mounts cause vibrations through the car!!!! ;)
The steering wheel shake is just the centre (horn) vibrating against the steering wheel.
i understand your point - but a 2002 models with the same kms as a 05 model are having probs with mounts left right and centre, whilst no-one has mentioned a prob with FL model.
there are plenty of sports cars that get thrashed and dont need new mounts after 40,000ks - i know alot of people personally who have owned them.
when a FL model is released they sometimes make 100's of small changes based on user feedback, recalls, and common repaired problems from the previous model - so its not out of the question that they could have changed something.
we havnt seen any FL models with steering rack issues, or gearbox issues in 2nd and 3rd either. Correct me if im wrong here though, im simply stating that its possible they ironed out a bunch of issues.
end rant ;)
either way, all respect to u mate, i know u help alot of ppl on these forums with good advice. keep it up.
i dun have problem with steering rack, gearbox too (touch wood).
it's possible they have made updates but i guess it's a little too early to tell regarding engine mounts.
also there are many more pre FL than FL here so the chance of them saying they have problem is higher due to the numbers.
We're all here to help each other, the fact is the ratio of PFL vs FL imo is about 4-1 or 5-1 so obviously there is a higher chance of a PFL's mount to go wrong.
Stock engine mount on PFL is fine, I have sat a mugen one side by side and there is almost no difference.
Hi Di, How are you?? Im getting my new roster soon so we'll get that meet happening yeah!
Let just get a show of hands here for Sydney people........others welcome of course. Saturday or Sunday??
Paul and I was talking and we thought that may be a nice cruise, followed with say... dinner at some Korean BBQ maybe would top off the day nicely...??
Suggestions????
Either day is fine with me, just as long as its not too early if its a sunday (i.e. later than 11am).
There's some great roads down south past woolongong, but dont know how keen you all are for a road trip / cruise lol
Lookin forward to it - unfortunately missed the last one...
hi everyone, just picked up myself some new wheels today. I got 17 by 9 +12.
Not lowered or anything just yet, what sorta camber kit should i be getting to get the wheels cambered out ?

i reckon overkill imo, but whatever floats ur boat
also bout the steering rack for preFL, anyone no how to fix the problem?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. .............need some serious camber there!
wow bbds them wheels are thick aszzz ! !
Nepolian im up for a cruise/meet/korean bbq all you can eat
Lets get some dates together boys and girls ! !
there pretty tight i checked, just the way the mounts are meant to be but feels so much better now
feels much more like a type r now right?
lol
stock feels too soft, well for me anyway
well if thats the case. I had the same problem. All it is is a creaking/squeeking noises coming from ur steering rack. It was a common problem back in Europe with the ep3's and most customers had them replaced under warranty. However from what i read on the uk type r forums there was no safety issue with this problem, just a annoying noise. Some people just bare with it as the noise comes and goes for them and some other people got lube and lubed the inside of the rack to stop the noise. I had the same problem and i took it to my mechanic and he said the same thing, just a annoying noise. He went into detail but i cant remember exactly what he told me lol sorry. He also said it was a common problem with the eu model civics (5door hatch) we have here in australia. My mechanic basically hoisted the car, pulled back the rubber on the steering rack and sprayed some can lube inside and that got rid of the noise. That was probably around close 2 a year ago and ive only heard the noise a couple times since then.
thanks god my ctr is all good so far hehe
Hey anyone got a set of stock springs i can borrow for a day?
and anyone in for a group buy with yonas for the INjen CAI? could get it cheeper with more people... got 2 so far
it's already discounted at $487 with the Krudd cash sale.
how much cheaper for a GB?? i might be interested.
well i dunno, we asked him b4 with 2 ppl and he said not much but if we get a couple more im sure he will look after us, just depends how many we can get
well if it's around $450 then i'll do it hahaha
30 dollars phillip, im sure if u can afford a 30k+ ep3 u can addord 30 lol
we need the $30 cause we spent the 30k :p
well that $30 would compensate for the postage hahahaha.
i personally wasn't intended to do CAI but since i'll fit a catback i guess i might as well to get the full gain for this mild setup (short of ECU, cams etc).
GruppeM is way to expensive so Injen is the go but i hate having to take off the bumper.
so a bit of discount will help me to make the decision haha.
well ill put you down when we talk to yonas then tell you what price we can get b4 we go ahead
no problem. thanks
also Fujita is selling $435 shipped for near identical item so i can't justisfy another $70 or so for an Injen (assuming postage is around $20).
^ that looks even better...any diff between the 2?
read this thread.
i don't really care for the TB elbow since there is zero chance for me to upgrade the intake manifold.Quote:
Both very similar....its really up to you if you want to spend extra on the Injen.
Injen comes with a washer bottle, not entirely sure if the fujita does.
Edit: Only major difference is if you ever want to upgrade to a RBC intake manifold then the Injen will be the better choice due to it having a rubber elbow to connect to the TB.
dunno how important the washer bottle is tho. i never use it but i guess it's good to have it. dunno what happen to the stock bottle tho. maybe it's in the way??
Washer bottle only applies to DC5 guys, no other mods needed.
I have a dummy EP3 CAI set up if any one wants it. Its stainless steel etc. Quite well made. Me thinks anything over $350 is too much for CAI considering you dont get alot!
Pm for further details!
thanks Nepolian.
if that's the case, maybe ask for a GB for the Fujita CAI instead???
Look.....Dynoday!
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthr...63#post2232763
EP meet to come as well! Its looking like either a South (gong) cruise or a north west cruise and dinner at Korean BBQ....possibly @ charcoal mine @ North Parramatta!
is it exactly the same as the injen but differen't brand pretty much? Like design is the same?
Post pictures of both installed :)
has anyone done valve tappet adjustment as yet??
what would a honda dealer will charge you?
oh ok, so they both run down into the guard
if u wanna sell them ill get them need some serious camber ftw! looks good bbds
also rpm boy put me down as a yes in the injen group buy can u ask if he has a black piping?
Cheers Steven
yeah gangster! lols i think you need coils and a camber kit BC i say/think
OK guys, I'm talking to Import Monster on getting some windscreens over from Japan. There are at least 3 suppliers on Yahoo auctions who can come up with the goods. All are legit shops with actual shops. Import Monster also guarantees all made through them. So I need to confirm some numbers so please indicate if you are definitely in for an EP3 windscreen.
Once I have confirmed numbers, I will then PM/email you the info as I get them, with links to the three suppliers on Yahoo auctions to consider which to go for.
im down tooo, problem is what is the actual price and will we need to change the seals around the windscreen if any?
SuperSteve and Perry, you have PM. Please reply or email me at vinnychu@gmail.com.
Cheers,
Vinny
