It's all relative Brett. Just showing the progress as you go, one step at a time. The people arguing "it doesn't do anything" are talking in the grand scheme of things where a bolt-on turbo conversion would "do something". But add up all the little bits here and there and all of a sudden you have a powerful and responsive engine that is much better than when you started.
That's one thing I'd love to do if I had the $$$, just grab any cheap car that is a good base, an Escort comes to mind or Civic's are good too. Then just fully track it, get best times possible. Then just start fixing the car up a bit, knocking off the worse things first, and tracking it again and compare best times to previous, keep on going like this. Somewhere down the track you'll hit the stage where the car is, say, 10 seconds quicker around the track than what it was. And it would feel like a really good achievement.
It just sounds like it'd be awesome fun to me at the moment, it would be really good for the track driving skills as well because the idea is not for the fastest car, it's to show improvement, so when you've got a slow basic car and you're going around the track, it's going to be a lot easier to pay attention to road positioning the whole way through for maximum "racing line" etc etc...
^^ That's it mate, every little bit adds up!!

Nice cold air feed into the SRI. Is that real carbon fiber on the heatshield/airbox???? That's how it should be done. Hot engine bay air is a power killer and anyone that disagrees is wrong. Good Job ;)
Thanks Mike, yeah pretty sure it is under the plastic there.
