Hi guys, how about a cruise/dinner??
We'll make it a sat, drive and finish with korean bbq at parra??
whats with the amount of ppl selling there ep3? is it the look or is everyone after something faster?
oh and does anyone have 16" rims on there ep3?
hey guys does anyone know if the depo headlights on ebay fits our OEM hids?
Cheers Steve
anyone upgrade there tb from 67 to 70mm yet?
Does anyone know where the extra weight comes from when comparing the EP3 to a dc5?
there the same chassis but the EP3 is hevier...how can we lighten the ep3? (no stripping rear seats)
The EP3 and DC5 have the same suspension structure and basic floorpan but the rest is very different. I am guessing the shell/glass/interior is where most of the weight comes from. Do EP3s have a steel or aluminium reinforcement bar under the rear seats? The DC5R bar is aluminium.
If you want to lose weight with no loss of comfort or function I would start with replacing the front seats, the bonnet, and the exhaust with lightweight items. You might lose 25-50 kg with those items. I lost 10kg just by replacing my exhaust.
There's not much in terms of weight. Mine comes in at 1180 at WSID scales. Dont worry about weight on a street car, just make more power :p
Crusie and track days coming up guys (SYD).......save your $$$
how about Saturday 13th June?.....go for a cruise to some place of interest and then finish it off with dinner at that korean bbq place in parra that Nepolian suggested?..
Show of hands...

Steve Paul, I need to confirm too :)
I'm thinking, meet at Thornleigh again, drive to Berowra catch the ferry, drive through wisemans ferry rd to windsor rd and straight to Korean bbq at charcoal mine at Church St, Parra.
What do you think!!
Also, Im thinking of selling my 3 inch stainless barrel muffler. Bolts on to the stock mid pipe. It has a 4.5 inch outlet.
Pm if interested!
dont think the rear guards are pumped, just low offset wheels?
hahaha my bday aswell
not sure what the missus has planned, maybe the weekend after or before??
oshi, broke the drivers side engine mount last nite..... can i buy a dc5r engine mount to replace it?
i broke 2 mounts previously lol both were in 2 pieces
No worries...
Sounds like a plan, but let's see what everyone's responses are. :D
Why aren't we invited?..LOL...
Chances are it might be moved to another day so will go with the majority. :)
dam guys bad news for me :( only Saturday free during June is the 6th, the rest of the month im working on Saturdays. I am however free any Sunday but i know a few of you cant make it Sundays so that rules Sundays out :(
where can u get it from (front lip?)
Hey all, as most of you have read, i broke my engine mount (driver side liquid filled piece of crap) and as trivett (were most car parts come from) parts told me that the dc5r mounts were different i went out and bought some hasport mounts.
apon buying them from JDM yard, yonas also advised me that they are the same as a dc5r ( for future reference) so i got home and opened the box to an awsome glow of polished alloy mounts. once installed (took about 2 hours for all 3) the car was better then stock to drive, it was a much tighter feel between shifts, less pedal used to accelerate and just a nicer drive all round
although the downside being at idol the vibration is more than the stock mounts but you can live with it
in short, buy some :)
who did you get to do the install?

Type R Group Test - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7-MqNKLl0mk
i wouldnt say i drive hard all the time, the little vtec here and there to get out of traffic, but my car has about 60k on the clock so its prob older then the rest of yours,
did the install by myself (piss easy) and bought them from jdm yard for $670, so all up it was good :)
mine has 60K on the clock aswell. lol
when i bought the car it was already leaking so it was a matter of time b4 it broke, second set was from a jdm dc5r but when i got them the hydrolic one wasnt in the best condition, the rubber looked abit dry and crackly but wasnt leaking, that lasted me 3 months with occansional spirited driving
for you guys that installed the mounts urself. Did u have to remove the front subframe to get to the front engine mount ??
lol nope not in melbourne :( but i am the long weekend if u wanted to drive it past my hotel and ill do it there :p
that im not sure, ill have to ask yonas, prob 62, isnt as harsh as other solid mounts ive had
yep sub frame came off and then mount installed, when doing the passanger mount, you should take the battery plate off(pain in the ass itself, but much easier for getting the mount off
very much soo, thanks for pointing me in the right direction :)
what are your opinions with the gear stick position??
the best imo..
check this vid out to have a good idea of it when driving. yeh tell what you think after that plz.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdLev...eature=related
it is possibly the best positioned stock shifter ever made, the whole idea is getting the shifter closer to the wheel so its faster to reach from your steering sheel whilst still having a short throw, i love it and after u drive it for a day, so will u :)
:)
yeah like all people that ive drove around there like how is it? looks weird so on so on
so i let them drive it and their like WOW its really easy and in a good place!
ive been driving for a few months now and once i drive someone elses car i tend to go up there to shift vice versia! lols its funny as
same, i cant stand the standard position on other cars lol
lol keeps theives from steeling it cause they look at the shifter and go WTF???? and then they dont steal the car :p
little do they know how good it is :)
i like the shift position too. it's great for shifting and freed up tons of storage space.
only down side is u can't (accidently) touch the leg of the lady in the front seat hahahahaha
good call....LOL!!!!
but on the flipside, when my fiance is driving and i make s stupid comment or anger her, she has an open shot to the go nads!!!
Hey just curious is the ep3 and dc5 brake pads interchangeable? Are they the same
Thanks
i need to know this as well :p
Yes they are. DC5/EP3/S2K have the same brake pads.
hey btw, i seen a EP3 on thursday night i think it was in the parklea/stanhope area about 930 10 pm on sunnyholt road
anyone here?
Funny how people are always quick to judge on the shifter position (usually negative) on the EP3!
I have had many different import performance cars and this is one of the best ones to drive. Except for maybe the JZA80, that wasn't too bad!
at least u got room in the front for the lady to get over lol
Ok guys, how about we make it on America's 'Independence Day' (4th July)?
:)
Another suggestion, drive towards Bradley's Head or Manly beach.
im down with that date
just a quick question that might sound noob, but is there any difference between the stock HID's and aftermarket HID's?
and also if i want to go whiter, would i have to change the whole bulb set?
how do you know if you got HID's?
OEM HID and aftermarket HID are diff. the balast is more intergrated for the OEM and the bulb is diff.
for colour change, u need to change bulb. oem is the best i reckon. aftermarkets are usually blue/purple = good look but bad for visibility.
man you can't tell if u have HID? the lights emit by both are very different. maybe take a pic and post up.
i want it to be more white
hehehe
when you say change the bulb, do i just buy, for example plain old white bulb from your local autobarn?? or does it have to be something special
?
