Back to lighting: i bought numplate lights, but their beam is very directional and doesn't light up the plate terribly well... kinda like this: /\ /\ over the numplate... Should i return them? Crappy LED things focus badly compared to the stock halogen one

the license plate light is actually quite important, i was pulled over once by the cops becoz i had a weak license plate light in my old car, he asked me to com out and stand a few metres away from the car and asked me if i can read the number plate clearly.. i said i can but he said he cant -_-... so he asked to change it back and if im seen next time with the same dull light than it'll be a defect...

nfi but i just bought t10 parkers from autobarn which have 5leds - the ones i bought other day have 3 so im gonna put the 3led as my front parker led and the 5led on my licence plate so its more visible.. would love to do a write-up just need to find fkn camera..

1. After months of attempting to DIY foglight installations and failing, i went down to a recommended auto mechanic and had them wired up correctly. apparently the problem was that the fuse box was incorrectly wired or something..

2. Got my windows tinted in 20% 3M carbon based tint. took about 3 hours or so and i think it looks awesome.

3. Finally, i also got my mugen lip kit delivered to my house this week. i was pretty worried because at first they sent me a package with just the sideskirts. and i was thinking *wth?! where's the rest of it?*. but it came later in the arvo. here's a pic of just the front lip on. not screwed on or anything, its just slipped on.

now i need to paint it and get it fitted. but first i'll need an exhaust, wheels and suspension. still a lot more to do. i'll keep updating here when i get any other mods :)

wow nicenice. the kit seems to fit very nicely haha =].
since u wired up the fog lights...and im guessing they are after market.. where do u put the switch?..is it next to the key hole? or is it a replacement of the stick? like the oem are?
the switch fits into that hole just below to fuel milage select/reset button. i had to cut a hole from the back of it to get my switch in there. but i'll go down to the honda dealer whenever i can to get the panel that fits in there to secure the switch and to make it look tidy.
don't forget about learning how to get back into your car if you lock yourself out! neat trick haha, would have saved us so much timee

Yeah the coolent overflow can be a little hard to get back in.. but yeah, with led parkers you may not ever have to again.
Our lights should basically look the same now.. you equally dissapointed with the mtec bulbs? They look ok, but not bright enough whatsoever.

i got mtec 4750K too. im not really disappointed, wouldnt mind HIDs of course but too costly =[. and vision isnt too bad, im alright with it. and yea if u really need vision like in the rain the foggies give lots of help =].
mtec bulbs look quite nice from a distance... now i think about i think im gonna get HIDs in the near future lol
Yeah it's not like I *need* more light... I just wasn't expecting stock to be much better than these... meh.. if anything foggies will be good for rain when ur trying to scan the road ahead for big lip-kit-killing potholes.

yeah not sure about the light, installed the bulbs + parkers then just parked it there for the night haha, i'll get pics and diy-write up soon.
one thing i noticed was that at the base of the bulb - it kind of looks yellow?! the light that comes out is white/blue-ish a little bit but when looking directly at the light coming out at the very base of the bulb it looks a little yellow which sucks T.T
msg me when u see this mark, i still might come around n checkout ur bonnet etc :)
yeah it is yellow at the base, unless u get HID it will be yellow lol. but trust me when u walk back about 10m in the dark or late arvo it looks quite white/blue
yeah i havent even tested what it's like with night driving yet :)

Well.. it's also my latest de-mod. As I decided to remove it and go back to stock and not pay for the cf bonnet... quite frankly i was a little dissapointed.. while the top finish is fine, a.) the vents are much larger and different to the image my supplier sent me b) underneath was a fibreglass frame... not a metal one like the 09 jazz cf bonnets the same manufacturer makes... and it took some modifcation to make it fit nicely.
Having said all that if anyone wants the bonnet (i was gonna pay $700 for) I can refer you onto my supplier... as he is a top bloke!
Edit: it looked great from the front and "so-so" from the side/back. It just screams "DEFECT ME!!!"
So yeah, saved myself some money and all little fed up with wasting money on the car... I think I might just call it a day and move onto the up and coming motorbike.

btw if this helps: - they look like a small tube where the pos/neg metal pieces are on either end of the tube thing and in the middle is a bit of glass/plastic where the LED light shines through.. i cant find a pic cos my nets fkn capped =[

the stock lexus is250 has white/bluish licence plate lights, and just then when i was picking my gf up from work 1 bus had normal licence plate lights but you can hardly see the middle section of the plate.
another bus musta had blown his licence plate lights... so yeh.

aero: the yellow tint is from a trader here ---> touge tune - laminex tint films or something like that, check it out, theres a GB or something up atm that .k. was interested in i believe
yes nzfd2 but procastination + being uber sick is keeping it on hold.. sorry i dont have much to say about the rad overflow except how i did it and im sure there is an easier way. Only took me about 5-10 minutes to get the bottle back in so is that a decent time or what? Mechanics out there prolly laughing their heads off haha
the bottle takes me 30min.. no shit. i get so frustrated, i even puleld the plastic lining on the side of the engine bay off to give more room. all it did was scratch my arm lol =.=.. then when it goes in.. its a big fluke lol..
