put it this way, when you decided to put your exhaust on did you go for power gains or sound? ask yourself this and did you get what you set out to achieve..
if you went for power gains, you should have gone for a proven, branded catback system.
if you went for sound or cosmetic looks, then you might have welded a cannon of some sort and size onto the rear.
with whatever you do with your car there will always be a consequence. in your case i think the lag will always be there, correct me if im wrong. there is always going to be some sort of lag with any exhaust system.. remember its just an outlet. if you have the matching setup in regards to intake then you might be seeing some improvements!
well, in putting the resonator in i set out to add some more sound. with the xforce muffler i actually just used it as a reason to clear the mugen lip kit cos the stock muffler was burning off the paint on the kit.. and i actually found some improvement in responsiveness, but now with increased sound i guess i have to sacrifice responsiveness, its not so bad that it becomes unbearable though so i guess im lucky with that hey

ive just got on an x-force muffler and its running fine... noise level isnt too loud or too quiet lik oem and so its right for my liking and once ur inside the car, its quiet as (unless u rev it from mid-high range)
but if u wanted more sound, u should have gotten a cannon muffler.. tat case u wouldnt need to replace the resonator and still have ur responsiveness and loud sound

(did i post SprintBooster installed too?) .k. we can probably meet up this weekend if u r free? haha, and no i havnt tried the HKS filter yet, its still on its way, will arrive end of this week i think... coz its light to post hehe... but i've only done 1000km with my OEM one... too clean to change i reckon...

yea i was thinking hm maybe an xforce canon, but i don't like the look of the canon on the mugen kit, much prefer the twin tip and wanted to keep it clean/stock looking, so i had to compromise and go for the resonator, wasn't aware id lose responsiveness though, but ive compensated for it by driving in S mode more lol, does actually increase responsiveness esp at the low end (which is where the responsiveness was lost - especially going uphill)
btw could someone tell me WHY its losing responsiveness? i cant quite derive why it is like it is
ok got another question: anyone know if i can tap a pos/neg wire to any wires in the INTERIOR fuse box?

I also installed a K&N Typhoon Short RAM Intake a few months ago. The first day I installed it the sound and performance was incredible!! 3 days later this disappeared and since then I have since been told it is running lean and have noticed an acceleration lag of a few seconds, basically till I get to about 6000revs. Strange/horrible thing is the car is still guzzling fuel quicker than before the SRI was installed, I get around 450/470kmph driving around at an average of about 75km/h mostly on the canberra roads here. I acknowledge the ABS plastic Mugen bodykit + spoiler adds weight and thus fuel consumption but have still noticed greater fuel consumption since installing the SRI. Anyone know how to deal with these performance/lag issues?
Any one know if its possible to drop a later model k20a with a 6 speed manual gear box preferable like a ep3 or dc5 k20 into a 06 civic sports..would the computer wiring all be the same or need customizing or is possible too mod the k20z too become more powerful than k20a standards
someone's done it before, but with different headers..
(dropping a k20a sourced from an ep3 + skunk2 intake manifold + custom exhaust manifold)
it can be done, sum ppl hav done it with a K24 block + K20A ivtec head... works great + those extra torque from the 2.4L! or a JDM FD2R K20A will fit directly but $$$

just question regarding a k20 into the FD...what happens with the dash? cause fds dash only go till 8...where as the k20 revs to 9 no? and the question of 5speed to 6speed? any info on a swap? thanks
if u are to drop a K20A into the FD, u'll hav to get those extra parts too, FD2 gear box with LSD, and as u r saying, the tacho... the brakes and the chassis enhancements from the FD2r too!! but then again, those all up will prolly cost like a FD2R...

After fitting my k&n panel filter there was a slight improvement in power, but I wasn't satisfied, so i decided to take out the intake resonator/1st airbox under head light.
About an hour and a half later, I have to say i'm surprised with the results, the car is willing to rev a bit harder and just wants to 'go'... would recommend this mod as long as you an aftermarket filter.

Shimian- there was no cutting just pulled it out, although alot messing about cause there are 2 pipes. I left the pipe coming from airbox just hanging...will attach a hose going to foglight area

The one on the left is located next to your battery, it feeds air to the resonator
The one on the right goes from resonator/1st airbox to 2nd airbox

I highly would not recommend leaving the pipe there exposed as it is.... its way too weak and flap around as its only made out of plastic and just think of what would happen if something got stuck in there or a build up of crap blocks the airway... EVEN tho you have the filter...
yeah throw a bit of mesh or something on the end until u finish off your cold air feed!
or just buy a cold air intake =]
just a quick question guys:
if i have a strip of LEDs connected directly to the battery in the engine bay, but have an on/off switch in between, when that switch is OFF, and the car is also OFF, will it still drain power from the battery? Or is it only when the switch is ON?

u gona need a relay for it stop draining battery whilst the switch is off
it is best to tap ur power from an acc wire instead of constant
also careful when running wires(thin or thick) to your battery.
ive seen the wires burn up and leave track marks in the cars carpet.

its one of the wires that is shielded with the grey electrical tape...try using volt meter
