Yup down to personal preference for sure. Imo there is no definitively better base. EG/EK, its all the same as long as they are EFI, and have all round disk brakes and electronics. So pretty much what lan said.
Im just partial to EGs and love the shape, on my second one now
why don't you just get an EG with EK front conversion or vice versa...

i still love my eg more than my ek.
better light chassis
better style
cheaper so more $$$ to buy parts for it
dc parts tranferable
huge aftermarket support
tho for interior comfort the ek is nicer but the eg is better for every other reason
i prefer eg, better shape ek looks gay unless its an R
