check on cold engine?
Car might be like mine - hardly uses oil.
mine runs fine now on 5-30 oil. it took me awhile to figure out best oil and from what i can tell after 9 months of owning my s2 it will not eat at 5w-30
i envy u brad..in every shape n form. :P
Anyone tried Amsoil ATM 10w30 engine oil? This performance comparison seem to suggest it out perform most leading brand. Looks impressive.

i haven't, but hmm. i never know what to think of these comparisons - do the conditions used actually simulate those in the F20?
still, I wouldn't mind trying it.
a question i've had for ages but keep forgetting to ask - where do you guys find brands of oil like asmoil, motul and especially elf? the big commercial stores (supershit etc) only keep the castrols, valvolines and the mobils amongst others.
I find the supershit and similar stores will have 'performance' oils if they're in an area where it is common to find drugdealers and their sexspec cars.
Auburn Autobarn for example, they stock elf. I'm sure it will be the same in VIC.
Don't be fooled by a silly chart. For starters the test done at 1800rpm for an hour???? Because we all drive our hondas at 1800rpm for an hour. Just another bullshit test from an oil company to say 'wow look how good our is.....buy it'
Amazing how everytime an oil company does a test, there oil is either the benchmark or second at half the price. Seriously though, most good synthetic oils are fine to run in your standard engine, to actually find out which is best, you'll need a lab.
Don't spend big dollars on oil, thinking your getting a premium product, there all much the same.
