Euro Luxury or S2000, u decide..

There is sooo many more modifications out there for the S2K, You can get them with about 40,000kms on the clock for about $40K. They have all ready lost their depreciation and shouldn't go down much more at all. They might go up again in price when they stop making them. This would never happen with the Euro, it is not an exclusive car. The S2K ia a much better car for the money. Go the S2000.

A NSX might be had for around $60,000. Ever drempt of owning one of those?

I will never own an AUDI, buckets of crap. My bro had one and it cost him big time. Allways something going wrong. Merc's are heavy pieces of poo. BMW's are great in my eye's.

Great advice. I'm taking your advice Type R Positive about the depreciation value with the S2000s. You just made my day when you said that! haha.

There seems to be only one white S2000 for sale up in sydney/act. It's an '01 model, red leather, 17" BSA wheels, and with 70,000kms. Asking price is $46,990. I gave him a ring and sussed out a few answers. Apparantely this car has been for sale now for the last 6months or so? Can anyone confirm this? I was also emailed some photos and the exterior looked great, but the interior wasn't really what I expected. Leather was stratched and bit worn, carpet looked dirty. He could not tell me who the previous owner was, age wise that was.

Would you consider 71,000kms on a 2001 model slighty high?? Redbook says 45-55k is average. I'm looking forward to buying an S with say 30k on it!

Can't really judge a car based on one bad experience. According to the J.D Powers survey, BMW isn't all that reliable either.

BMW are far more reliable than Audi. I see too many Audi's with lots of trouble, not just my bro's. He upgraded to a Lancer. There are so many E30's still getting around, they are a great car.

The high price could be because it's a rare GPW(Grand Prix White) with red leather interior.
Carpet being dirty and stretch/worn leather is usually attributed to wear and tear, so I wouldn't think much of it, unless u're a fussy bugger :p
What you should be more worried about are the mechanicals ;)

Interesting thread...

For the past couple of months I've been asking myself the same questions but my choice is between an S2000 and a brand new Subaru Liberty GT. I already have a run around car so the S2000 would be a weekend car whereas if I buy the Liberty I can ditch the run around and just have one car. Tough choice but I'm leaning towards the S2000 because I get bored of cars pretty easily and the Liberty will probably seem boring pretty quickly. The new car factor is a big issue however.

What I will say though is that at least these cars a similar power to weight wise. I think after driving an S2000 an Accord would seem a little slow.. One and a half seconds to 100kmph is a big difference. Thats like comparing a WRX to a Commodore V6.

Once again, the sample size of J.D. Powers survey is far greater than your observations here and there.

Convertibles are always difficult to sell later down the track.
I wouldn't get one.

Just went go-karting today at Eastern Creek. Went for the 9hp carts (the lowest one other than the Junior 6hp), and then after that, got back into my Euro 6MT. The Euro has less acceleration than the 9hp cart.... OMG. hHehhe... Fun.
