I agree. That's why it's not worth doing too many modifications to your engine, no one will buy it off you one day.
Buy a car with a good engine to start with and you don't need to do an engine swap (I only have a d series because i bought it off my Dad, knew the history of the car, always garaged, not thrashed by a 50+ yr old man lol etc etc)
But yep, be patient - what makes you think someone is selling the exact car you want at the exact same time you want to buy one? Exactly.
Well i will be on my P's so i obviously dont want a absolute machine, im doing a Trade so i will have to get a ute in a year anyway.
What about this Integra? looks clean and is cheap, could get him down lower aswell, the car has no logbooks tho and owner had for 3 months now selling it

This Civic been on for ages, its PERFECT, my Cousin is Cousins with the owner, said hes spent 20K upwards on it and is a legit car. H22A could get expensive for petrol tho?

mmm... Civic coupe is very nice in terms of looks, not many in that condition around Australia.
Not sure about engine conversion, other people on forum would know more than me on this but it might handle like a bit of a pig if the other right modifications haven't been done. I still don't understand why people put such big engines in a car that wasn't engineered for it. Honda does millions of kilometres of testing and millions of dollars in development, yet someone can chuck in a bigger engine and then everything is better. I don't get it. The whole dynamics of the car are now changed from it's original purpose. A B18 would have been plenty if they wanted an upgrade and less stress on stock components etc etc. That's what Spoon recommended with the CTR if any engine upgrade had to be done. Anyway, just my 2 cents...
IMO, the Integra will be always be a true sports car because it was always designed as a sports car; where the Civic wasn't. If you want a true sports car, go with the Integra, if you want something that still looks like a sports car and want something a bit more special and can afford the extra dough, go the Civic.
Will the H22A be more expensive to insure on my PS as the engine is alot bigger compared to the stock engine? The Integra seems abit dodgy i reckon, but cant expect much for 7.2k plus hes negotiable. I have 15 grand aside for a First car, no way im gonna spend all that 15, its a first car FFS and will sell it in a year(unless i adore it)
You probably missed it by about 3 weeks but there was a cracker of an Integra DC2 Type R on carsales. It was one of only a few rare race prepped editions direct from Honda in Championship white (the only noticeable exterior hint was the bonnet pins came like that from Honda) - everything else looked stock.
I don't know what the other additions to the car were, but this thing was immaculate... and come to think of it I'm pretty sure that exact same car used to park outside my work because I always noticed why it had bonnet pins and the rest of the car was bone stock (wheels, suspension height etc). It looked immaculate. I think the price was over $15k though... but just goes to show there are good ones out there just have to be patient, know what you want and have a bit of luck too!
Get the Integra mate.. You will be VERY happy with it. VTi-R with a few simple bolt on mods is a very fun car to drive.
Dont think the Integra is dodgy at all? guy said hes only owned it for 3 months. Look at the desciption tho, he has put money into it to make it roadworthy, Good K's aswell. Its between a Couple of Civics and that one Integra, i could get a Type R for 14k but its too much for a first car, even if i can afford it. But if i can get a Type R from Interstate, look at this link, would it be worth it, Type R are good i hear?

I don't know if it's dodgy. I'll let you know in a couple hours lol. Going to look at it for my mate. But yes, it does seem like he's put abit of cash into it to get it up to scratch, and it does look quiet neat.
As for getting for a Type R, yes they are good. Very, very good. But if your only planning on having this as an interim car for a year or so until you need a ute, don't bother on spending so much. Especially as you say yourself, on a first car. Type R is the type of car that likes to be pushed to the limit a bit, that's where it really shines. If your fresh on to your P's, I recommend the Vti-R. Same timeless shape, an excellent motor and IMO beautiful interior AND a sunroof! :D Basically the same car as the Type R, just less 'full on'.
A nice, clean, low K's, looked after Vti-R is something you'll be happy with, I can gaurantee it. And if your willing, put another $1k in to it (Injen CAI, ITR rear sway bar, maybe even a very mild exhaust) and you'll have a really nice ride.
Its between these 3 really, i can get the Type R for 11k, thats the lowest the guy willl go, 500 to ship here, just needs a new paintjob, the other 2 could get abit cheaper aswell

Sorry bro, my mate bought that Integra. Its really nice. Body needs some attention, abit rough round the edges, but it drives really smooth and the gearbox feels great.
I'm sure another will pop up soon!!
