That's a bit of a generic response - "it will casue too much problems for it"
Why will it do that? It is just an engine...just like every other Lancer, Mirage, Corolla or whatever out there. All of which have been turbo'd.
There may be some complexities in the design given the lack of room in the engine bay, but if it is designed well it shouldn't cause any problems as such.
You need to remember that when you turbo any car, you are always going to have a few little issues here and there.
No one here has done it yet.
personally i dont have enough confidence in jazz engine.... no matter wat people said, this engine is not designed for performance.... therefore i just feel that the stock engine is not strong enuf for turbo.... even if can be turboed, the engine wont last long i think.....
it is a honda engine... and the D16Y (non SOHC vtec) was never designed for performance either dont 4get...adn ppl boost that...
Alot of Honda engines were meant to be turbo'd. In fact, almost all N/A engines weren't meant to be turbo'd.
Just because it's not a performance engine doesn't mean you can't turbo it. Hyundai's have successfully been turbocharged without major dramas....
Zimp I think you are slightly mis-informed on the whole turbo thing. Most modern engines should be capable of maintaining about 50% increase in power with little problem. Yes you are going to wear things out a bit quicker, but then that's often the case with factory turbo cars as well. You just have to be sensible about it all.
well... lets just c who's gonna volunteer and turbo charge the jazz.....
