i bought Honda black key, got it cut so cant get refund..
If i put the transponder from old key on ignition ring a NON-OEM key starts car, but not the Honda one. Must scramble signal maybe? Anyway could i try to 'rip out' the chip inside the honda key? cant do much else with it.
thanks ECU-MAN in advance!

u shud b able to keep both keys.
the place i went has a machine that will program the transponder to the same as ur original black key i fink that wot he sed.

but 88bux is not to bad!

$74.95
works fine.
i heard a rumour that you can have a blank key cut and successfully bypass the ultrasonics sensors by doing a few simple tricks with the ignition. Reason being the sensor will re-educate itself to the new ultrasonics to the new key after 8-10 attempts
Only takes 30 seconds he said.
Anyone else heard of this ?
i heard of this too.. but its not just a regular cut key, laser cut i think..
just to let you guys know that i went to Buffalo Lock and Key on saturday and i was in and out in 2 mins...and got my spare key for $88.00. works fine and the spare key looks exactly like the OEM Honda key just without the H badge on the key....Quote:

just something for you guys to know if u dont drive a civic.
This might be reviving an old thread, but...
I have just bought a DC2R 2000ym, and need a spare key done, after reading this, would explain why the red key i have doesnt do anything..
Can I buy a red key anywhere that can be programmed to work? I like the red key to match the badges haha
Where is the best place to get keys from these days?
Cheers
Chris
I doubt if this can be done. Still, go to a locksmith, key cutting places like Mr Minit can do these types of things.
