ie, u should be able to wire up a direct connection easily.

possibly, if its just a few screws Ill crack mine open when it gets here, depends if its got an a/d converter in it, dunno.
Could it be that easy? The Honda port is 14 pins. I wish there was an easy way of doing this.Quote:

OK I just received my SNHOND3, first thing I did ofcourse was crack it open to have a look inside, and I can gaurantee you this thing is loaded with electronics, you simply will not be making a passive pass through cable, you need to buy the electronics, accept it :)
Well the SNHOND3 is now connected and it works great, Ill post some pictures of the install once its tidied up tomorrow :)
Take a look at http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?p=455677 for an alternative product that works with the steering wheel controls (Dension Ice Link Plus).
Ive just done this in my late 05 luxury and have some updates for this:

[QUOTE=learner]hi yfin... i got it from a frd in america.
the instruction page come with SNHOND3 is useless... it only tell u that u have to connect the SNHOND3 to the factory handunit.... but wat u have to do is just plug it in really.
since there are some ppls pm me how to remove the trays and compartments.. here is the answer.
1. remove the cover near the stick... there are 6 clips holding it. you just have to pull it up with CARE. the yellow dot in the pic is where are the cilps... if i remember it right.

>yes the dots are right!
2. remove the ash-tray (just the tray. [when u wanna clean up the ash-tray].. not the whole thing)
>this just pulls up n out.
3. after u done step1&2 .. u will see 4 screws holding the ash-tray PART.
the yellow dot in the pic is where the screws are. just un-do the screws then remove the ash-tray part.

>seems the ash tray on mine also had two clips on the auto gear lever edge, i just pulled and these got wrenched off the ashtray unit and fell into the cavity below - make sure you get them out and refit them (they has a thin tang in the centre and this fits between the bars you can see when youve the ash tray in your hand.
4 now is time to remove the middle compartment (the BOX)... just put your hands to the left and right of the box(INSIDE) then pull it out. just put your hands inside and kinda spread them outwards to go enough pressure, also kind grab on the the lower lip with thumb and forefinger…Don't pull on the door…Be very carefull around the trim as it scratches easily
(there are 2 clips holding the box... is on the left and right side of da box...)
>yes start with the door open and pull outward - lifting at the lip - but then close the door and pull out or you will break the dash clip holes as the side of the door mech inside is wider with the door open - the dash did bend but my clips holes look very rough now and i feel lucky they didnt break off.
5. plug the cable to here

>i used the dension cable and unit and it plugged right in - you will need to make sure the cables commin out of the plug are gently bent flush tho or the cupboard door will foul on them. i ran my cable up and along the right hand side and down the front of the dash pannel thats on the side of the cupboard hole. then connected the dension unit along the floor of the cavity - taping it to the existing thin protected cable in there - i also put a piece of foam in next to the sharp edges of the metalwork and fed the dension cradle cable in from the drivers footwell (unsscrew a screw up n under the dash edge, loosen the trim clip and pull out then pull towards the engine and the triangle pannel will slide out leaving you with access and the bolt that you may use to fit a bracket for the ipod etc. i did see a bracket online for this but ive not seen it again recently... im hoping to get one tho as it will make a neat install.
