Its all about profit and dealer greed. By providing you with HAMP parts they make more money because they don't pass on the savings that HAMP parts are meant to provide as they do everywhere else in the world.

BTW how much did they charge on your itemised invoice for the filter? I bet is was more than $4-.

At least that sounds like it was less than the HOP (blue) part price they charge.

The dealer still only made about 1000% profit on the part at that price (less than usual). Then they pay the 1st year apprentice the governement subsidised apprenticeship wage and charge you over $100 for labour. Kind of makes those young kids producing sports shoes all day in India look like they aren't getting such a bad deal.

actually.. just bought some original Honda Oil Filter from the dealer.. and they cost like $15 each.. I bit pricey I think.. even Ryco cost about $10...

No choice.. I have to do the oil chance myself soon... :thumbsup:
