I have a Apexi N1 turbo version catback system on my DC2-R.
This system is very loud, when it hits VTEC it sounds like an explosion. Im waiting until i get defected as it is far to loud. The sound is awesome though, but for daily driver to loud.

well, i compared it to another mugen today - and it is louder, but note is the same, just volume is higher. Compared the piping, and its an exact match (so it is a definite mugen). For the purposes of the comparison, we swapped the exhaust onto my car - and it was quieter...
Off to get the headers fitted next week, so it'll have the expert check...
Dude did the other car have headers and you don't but both have the same mugen catback??Quote:

Just the cat back sometimes produces a sound that is higher in volume (again it could be the pitch "frequency" not actual dB increase) and not as nice, but when the headers are upgraded the exhaust gases flow smoother and hence you have a nicer sounding exhaust and not as loud.
Yeah, it's a weird thing - the other exhaust is 3 years older than mine, yet still quieter...Quote:
