Buying Modded Vs Buying Stock has its Pros and cons...
When buying any 2nd hand car you cant make stereo types or assumptions, you have to treat every car as its own by itself.
Eg.. you cant "assume" that because a car is modded that its been thrashed... just like you cant "assume" a car that is stock with under 100k is perfect.
Buying a modded car you can really pick up some bargains... but also you have to be able to smell bullshit. Ie Internal work? have they got recipets? (i never knew mugen made pistons or injectors?) and if people dont have reciepts you CANNOT take their word for it. No reciept... its bullshit
Buying a stock car and planning to do it... will cost you lots more money AND Time AND sweat then ever ever in theory. But you cant take pride in atleast you created something.
150xxxk's on a 96 dc2 is pretty good imo. But as i said its really just a number that means shit all. 150xxx on one car could be good and 150xxxks on another could be very bad. Its all to do with their life. Do your research and know what to look for. Keep in mind many hondas see over 400xxxks unrebuilt. I belive honda themselves have some honda engines running over 1 000 000ks. (in near perfect conditions)
Know the things to look for and be able to look for signs of possibly faults.
ALso i still stand by the Gen 5 VTIR > Dc2 Vtir. Your kidding yourself if you think there is no aftermarket support for H22a... WTF? some of the best honda drag cars use these engines.. both here and the states.... If it were an Accord with a F20b (Similar spec to the h22a)... then yeh you fuct.
