what kind of tyres do you think i should use dean.
Well for a 15 inch rim, the stock tyre is 195/55. But I don't think tyre places will recomend this size stretched out on a 7.5 inch rim, maybe they will do it for you who knows. If not 195, your looking at a 205 and your gonna have problems. Either way I think your gonna have problems with those offsets. Don't know why you guys do this sorta thing. :p

yes the tyre size is bad, a lower profile tyre will not look that bad and will stretch not bulge, the 42 to 45 offset will not make that much of a difference when you are talking about tyres bulging out of the guards like your pic shows.
another simple thing i dont think anyone mentioned..did you have aftermarket wheels on prior to fitting these wheels?
becuase aftermarket wheels use hubrings, and if you dont take these off when changing your wheels(im assuming these wheels have a different centre bore to your old ones), then your wheel doesnt sit on the hub but on that actual old hubring. making it extremely dangerous to drive and pushing it out about 1 cm.
i know you may think it sounds stupid, but i have seen it too many times, people buy rims from somewhere, come to the shop and what do ya know, they are fitted wrong...

this weekend i'm going down to a shop for some camber adjustment..so will check to see if a hub ring exists. I have had aftermarket rims on but to my knowledge didn't have a ring as you have described.
and from your first paragraph i'll assume you are leaning towards tyres being the problem...?
for additional info also, i've had 16 x 7 Rota 'MF-10' previously, shod in Falken Azenis RT215 - 205/50. I'm pretty sure offset was +42. Same problem as now. Difference this time is that a DC2R owner bought them off me and also had them sticking out.

^^^ From that photo, theres no way they are 7 inch +42 rims. The wheels are sticking out too much for that size and offset.

yea somethings odd.
The offest will be engraved on the back of the wheels, or on a sticker covered by brake dust. not hard to find.
And yes a lower profile tyre will help, a semi slick tyre will be bigger then a street tyre in the same size, if it turns out the wheel are ok, get a lower tyre to stretch under the guard.
Some camber would help too but try finding out what the problem is first.
are you sure the wheels arent staggered widths? maybe even same width but different offsets?
trust me its all possible.
btw, does the car drive fine/straight/no vibrations?
TT: yeah....at the tyre joint this weekend i'll see if they can get a 45 profile on and then we'll see.
I would like to think that Buddyclub has some good QA to insure all wheels are as labelled. All boxes are labelled with +42 offset...as is the width of 7 inch (all four wheels, no staggering) But as you say anything is possible.
does it drive fine/straight? most roads are ok. however i find i have to pay more attention on some roads as any bumps/uneveness will cause a bit of bump steer. compared to stock rims....i can tell the difference. I've had wheel alignment done. I'm kinda guessing its to do with 1) camber (rear needs adjustment) and 2) possibly the whole sticking out problem.
