Yep did that in the first week of ownership, dropped the keys on the floor of the boot with the shopping and then the doors locked. What a pain in the a**.Quote:

Power Window Switch Illumination for passenger windows, on the Driver Side Door, will 'turn off' when the Passenger window lock is enganged.. (If that makes sense)
you can open the windows with the key!!!
wow.. just twist in the opposite direction.
found that out last night.. :P
You kidding. I don't think I've ever put my key into my door. Or not more than once. Darn. And to think of all the times I've switched the ignition on just to open the window whilst I'm waiting in the car.
You can open windows with your unlock button on the remote! Just hold it down! Closing all windows still needs you to put the key into the keyhole and lock it twice and hold til the windows are up.

My mates subaru wrx does this shuts automatically, it's a pain in the butt having to go back inside the car and put the key in the ignition and close the sun roof...yes i would like to know too if this can be done with the euro
No it wont work unless you add an aftermarket device/circuit such as an alarm or a dedicated module designed for this purpose. You can buy a dedicated module from the US, go here: http://www.kptechnologies.com/ and click "products", then "Remote Sunroof Control Module" which is $US99 (about $AU150 shipped)Quote:

you could prolly wire it some how.. there's always a way with electronics nowadays.
lol interesting bit - how to fake cruise control (MT) :p
While in gear keeping the accelerator steady, push the clutch in and put it in Neutral then take the clutch out. Press the cruise control button. The cruise control dash light will stay lit for a second, get confused, and give up.

lol messing around with the euros computer...
gotta give it a go sometime LD
and for anyone else, does your cruise control not engage below 40 or 50 kph ?
Cruise control has a minimum speed before it will work.

I've put it on 60kph then tried to reduce speed it wouldn't really go down either.:zip:
Mine works at below 60... I remember using cruise control when going around 60 zones with speed cameras. I'll try again tomorrow to test for the lower limit.
lol I guess honda reprogrammed cc in my06 so it doesnt rev like that. I tried getting it to rev happy, couldnt do it.Quote:

Back. Just tested it. Mine works at above 40km/h. Yay!
When you have your euro in triptronic mode it gears down by it self when you brake.
not when you brake, more so when you reach a certain speed/rpm level...
Oops thanks for correcting me lol ;)
not sure if anyone mentioned this but the steering wheel is telescopic - it can be brought forward toward you.
yep one of the first things I noticed when reading the specs on the website ftw.
But yeah another thing I noticed while driving spiritedly, the accelerator power is limited when doing a sharp corner. lol it was a safe corner to zip around at the time, but traction control is likes to play it safe ... could of been loose gravel on the road for instance..
It's the VSA taking control of the car, you can switch it off from the button below your driver right hand side..Quote:

Maybe VSA is tuned to the crappy stock dunlop SP2050 tyres ;) The yoko C-Drives are so much better its not funny.
I think most automatic cars do that these days.Quote:

But in fact it happens when you're in normal Drive mode too.
Also if you're actually going downhill and braking, it'll gear down even faster because the G-sensor will pick up that you're going downhill and might want engine-braking... :D
Never really thought of it that way....:DQuote:

Just pull the lever down, and then you can adjust the steering wheel up-down and in-out.Quote:

6MT Euro's: The gearbox uses an electric/pneumatic gate to lock out Reverse (above 10 or 20km/h I think) so you cant blow up the gearbox at high speed.
i find it odd that a few people didn't know about this! Its on the website specs and is one of the MANY reasons I chose a Euro over something else!Quote:

sometimes when im bored in traffic.. i pretend im flying a plane with the steering wheel.
Even reviewers miss this feature!Quote:

i guess i'm just particularly attuned to it 'cos I'm quite tall and need as many things as possible to be height and reach adjustable on the driver's side.Quote:

same here tony, i tried it on the way home yesterday. yes indeed reverse is not available :P
and also the wifes spare might get swapped tomorrow night while she is out hehehe
Ive got a good one!!
Im pretty sure it hasnt been mentioned, with VSA on, (in a manual model) the engine wont rev past 4500rpm when its in manual, or rather when the clutch is in. it was weird last night i was going to 'hard launch' it, and not thinking i left VSA on and it limited it to 4.5k!! turning it off let me go all the way to redline - if i wanted it to :)
Nah, the 4500rpm limit is there when the clutch is in or the transmission is in neutral and your car is stationary. I think your car was moving slowly (1km/h) when you tried it the 2nd time without VSA.
BTW, free revving up to redline is bad for the engine.
Interesting, I know about the 4.5k rpm cut off when car is stationary, but I didn't know this is controlled by the VSA! Good find! :thumbsup:Quote:

how is it bad? there is no load on the engine and its not like i was holding it there for 10 mins so overheating issues wouldnt be there.
EDIT: and yeah push the VSA and its all gone away
So it works even when stationary? I stand corrected  (and I have to give you points for pointing this out too).
And, yes, free revving is very bad, because the rate of the RPM increasing is very high. The acceleration forces are many times higher than when with a load. Overheating is not a problem in a properly working NA engine. Just be careful not to do it often. Alternatively, you can use partial throttle to get the revs up to redline in neutral. As long as the rate at which the RPM increases is not very high, it should be alright.
we know, moving off from stationary, the intermitent wipers will make a sweep, when u release the brakes.
but if ur handbrakes are engaged and u release the brakes, it will not sweep.
clever.
Maybe they should sweep, so we know the handbrake works and the car isnt rolling lol
ive noticed my manual lux doesnt do that :( my wifes auto standard does tho!
was it introduced in the later models or has it been there all along?
and aaronng, i dont do it all the time. purely for testing purposes :P ill have to look further into free revving, to me (im not saying you are wrong) as there is no load on the engine, there wouldnt be much damage. anyway its going off topic here if i find something ill pm you
That's also int!!!Quote:

this is'nt exactly in the euro but the euro's key has a rounded end, which is perfect to insert in your ear to remove any build up of ear wax!! :D try it!!
LOL@martizzle
yfin ill try it again if you want! not in the garage tho, the old people in my complex might get angry if i disturb them from them watching GMA or whatever they watch these days :P
ill try with the brakes on, off, hand brake etc to see if any of that makes a difference
bwaha@martizzle dude use cotton tips unless u want an ear infection lol.
What really blows me away after reading all these little "finds" is just how poorly informed the "salespeople" who sold all these cars must be if they don't know to show them to customers!
If they do know about them, then they obviously haven't spent the time to demonstrate features like the petrolcap holder and the AUX "press and hold to blackout" feature on the display panel, to say nothing of the steering column adjustment, instrument dimmer switch and all those other neat items!
I was thinking the same. I think I've only learnt 1 thing from this thread (as far as features go) as the salesman showed me everything and made sure I understood how to use it myself.
Same here with my guy.He covered everything ex.blackout feature.:thumbsup:Quote:

WOW, i dunno, i think most ppl knew this..
but like for example: set cc on at 80kmh, then press cancel and say u slow down to 50kmh, then press RES and it will speed back up to 80kmh and sit there.
I thnk all cars with c/c have this. It's the resume button. It memorises previous setting even when u press cancell button, but not when u press main c/c switch.:)Quote:

Previously I would have thought the ability of the engine to free-rev under no load, is limited by its own physical capability of increasingly spinning faster. However, what that implies is, when you free-rev, it is working and accelerating at the maximum gradient it could physically do so... which must be bad.
I guess the Honda engines being fairly well balanced from factory will give less vibrations so hopefully nothing will break apart :(
It doesn't hurt to post stuff that may seem obvious to you as others may not know.:DQuote:

Nope, it doesn't chime. You just get the light. When the light comes on, I estimate you have between 8 to 10 L left in the tank.
Actually it does chime, well at least on the MY06 models.
You hear a single "ding" and the words "Fuel Low" appear on the trip computer.
It activates when you have about 60km left of fuel if I recall correctly.
eurodude: thats correct... that's what happens in the 06 model... and its at 60kms left... :)
Haven't run tank down to light yet!!!Quote:

It happens rarely :). Only once have I had to run it down to 70km after the light and probably less than 10 times when I had the light come on.
