They sure are, glad you like it
I'm ordering a gruppe m intake along with a friend next week =) soo excited about it since everyone saying all the positive stuff about it  i see people replaced the intake piping with k&n, is there any gain or reason in doing so? also gruppe m for Type R and S is the same? because my friend drives a type s just wanna make sure. Thanks guys!! :D
how much r u getting them for??
*bump
Yeah I can vouch for the Gruppe M intake! Absolutely quality work. Worth every penny, and you'll definitely know why once it arrives and installed.
Also, does anyone know where to get the K&N piping?
checked the EMS tracking number thing last friday & indicated that it was in japan's international postoffice branch. then monday when i got home after work. CARBON BLING YO sitting in my room waitin for me to open it.:thumbsup:

email hoya@gruppem.co.jp
"I've heard that you are holding a discount campaign for the gruppeM DC5."
bla bla bla
finally. adjustment made by adding cushioning tape to absorb the rattling noise and now it is perfect, zero rattle when applying 100% throttle. The intake quality is superb, performance as well and especially the sound, the vtec crossover is CLEAR noticeable, just like the traditional vtec. 100% worth buying!!

need to make sure u open it up every month at least as u will be suprised what gets in there!
xposed, what have you had in there? lol
my mates had tampons in there, just depends..
people may knoe if u have a gruppem and shove sumtin in for the fun of it..
if had tissue in mine one time!
Leaves and tree stuff i find in mine all the time
has anyone tried to fit the intake with aluminium piping yet? (instead of the OEM black plastic one)
I need to do somthing like that cause my oem plastic shit cracked
My OEM intake pipe cracked after a couple of months, obviously its moving more with engine torque (standard air box moves with engine, gruppe-m
s movement is much less because its sitting against the strut brace).. wonder if replacing with metal could cause damage to the intake at all...
I think I mite go the silicone piping instead tho
how often do you guys clean your filter? do you just use the K&N recharge kit?
Just got mine from Hoya and installed it! Wow is all i can say! This thing is a real beast of a modification. With my buddyclub PRO spec III cat back this thing sounds off its guts! Have to give a big thank you to all who posted for convincing me to get one. Paid $900 shipped!
Do you guys have a problem with the gruppe m where it keeps on popping out, and leaning more towards the passenger side? Is it because the engine rocks too much?
are u using the stock piping?
popping out from where?
from the cowl top, i think he means
i had a custom intake piping which is how i fixed it.
I would use 3M VHB tape to secure it down to the cowl.
no dont use a tape, its useless as theres to much pressue, and ur not the only one having this issue.
the issue is that when u launch your car engine pushes back and forth which causes the intake to follow and the piping aint stiff which when out of place it stays there.
ur problem is that it isnt sitting on the cowl top after driving right. go to supercheap and buy 3" silicon extention ( get black) and some clamps and extend it from the gruppem to the stock piping.
costs about 10 from memory for it, usually used for turbo setups for the piping connection
yeh its coz of constant rubbing from the intake rubber surround to the cowl top.
Its cause the gruppem has now support on the back besides the 1 mount it has support on which doesnt stablize it. the stock piping is short which if you by the silicon thingo to extend it will fix the issue and to stop the rubbing grinding the cowl top, u can buy door stop adhesive rubber.
although this wont rely work as constant rain etc wil tear it.
ok after securing airbox to prepare for track so it doesn't move around. After the first session on the track, the intake piping has a slit in it, could this be because there are no room for the airbox to move around?
Should i replace it with a new stock piping? or should i go something else?
That happened to me as well. it happened cause i clamped the hose first b4 all the other adjustment. I got another one and secured the gruppem then clamped the hose. hasn't broken at all,
If it ever breaks again i mite get a KNN pipe and modify it like some else did here b4
My intake pipe split after a while with the Gruppe M. I replaced it with a new one from Honda. I don't remember how much it cost be but I don't think it was very cheap. You may be better off getting something aftermarket, just don't get one of those stupid aluminium pipes.
For example ARC:

but if i go back with the stock piping, wouldn't the plastic crack a slit open again?
hahah i wrapped my strut brace in roll cage foams and it holds my gruppe m in place very well.
ghetto as though.
theres a J's racing one going cheap on CITR if you want.
i got it from clark rubber. if ur in melb you can have my leftovers.
how mcuh was it?
when i put my gruppeM in it was making so much noise! Clark rubber just go buy some foam with the adhesive and put some in a couple of places like firewall and on the bottom of your strut bar(were u cant see it) and no more noise.. (well if there is noise i dont hear it on vtec!!)
bringing back a dead thread.
can anyone confirm the length of there intake on the top inlet which sits on the cowl top?
where the rubber is and the length of the rubber ?
I'm planning to buy a gruppe m. Any one want to group buy?
Top quality Intake, great sound combo for me..
Ms intake + stock header + Mugen twin loop and instantly the sound coming from the car justify the spending for DC5 imo, very happy with the intake. Wouldnt have done it any other way.
i also notice mid range improvement in 2/3/4 gear too... which is what i want.
If you perfer deep note instead loud then twin loop is the way to go,

^ well done dude, i think u gona love the set up... haha
Hey guys. Sorry for reviving old thread, I didnt want to start a new thread. Just wondering if anyone elses gruppe m intake makes a funny noise like a fake turbo whistle. I didnt install the intake as i bought it with one. The noise does my head in sometimes. It only happens when I accelerate. Can someOne help me?
Thats the noise from the gruppm
More likely a slight crack in intake pipe , or gap in pod filter or gap some where that unfiltered air is sucking thru.
Check the hose clamps on the intake arm and the gruppe m intake and pod itself.
I have a gruppe m on a ep3 and no such noise. Actually it's a very subtle deep
Tone until vtec in which it makes a nice brassy note
Thats what i was thinking too. Maybe theres a leak in the pipe or somewhere. Will take it apart this weekend to check it out
