http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_Veo0G2qfY
for all the guys with mugen visors etc..
are they hard to put on?
im thinkin about grabbing some soon. are they clipped on or 3m tapped?
i wanna get some mugen visors too so it'd be good to know.. the oem ones i have were glued on so who knows? maybe the real ones will be clip and the reps taped?
Got visor reps, and held on by 3M tape and it holds fine...
I think JDM Yard has the clip on ones
or you can get this to complete your carbon look =P
http://www.gmwebsite.com/upload/rsty...l-carbon-b.gif
but dmx isnt on here anymore =[
we are losin members =[
I've got OEM visors and they're stuck on with foam tape.
foam tape wth?
where u gonna get ur mugen (real or rep?) visors from btw?
The Stealership installed it for me when i got the car... my parents spend ages bargaining with the guy lol.
it's like kinda thin stuff.. I dunno what product it actially is, but i assume it's pretty strong since my visors haven't flown off yet.
ahh thats crazy lol.. i got my oem visors off a friend for free and they have some hardcore 3m tape or something lol.. countless trips on highways and they are fine so yeh =] wanting to upgrade to mugen though
Tim's tip was to use electrical tape if it starts rattling/flying off at 120km/h :)
not electrical tape, cloth tape...hehehhehehe
well dmx got banned twice for unathourised trader selling didn't he? probly jsut raged it n left the forum?
Oh that must suck :( poor DMX - he knew his stuff..
Im also thinking of getting visor. A Mugen replica visor sells for $95 by Touge tune but Im still not decided as my car will look funny since I have modulo kit and no Mugen stuff. does anyone know if you can get replica honda visors?
Stick with mugen visor!!!!!!!!!
yeah mate, mix and match will always look great.. ok well not always but theres nothing wrong with it =]
ooo btw...DANJOYS back???where have u been?or its just me tripin?
mugen visor is great, i have the genuine one which has clips and doesnt become lose at all like my replica one on my old car... i hav it on with no bodykit lol
how much do the real mugen ones cost ondy?
ps - still need to arrange to a little bris meetup! spotted another modded fd @ my work lol =] numberrs are rising haha!
after exams its on
wow i bought my replica visor from some shop in hk for like 40-45AUD around 2 years ago :\
it doesnt fly off although one of my corners startin to peel
90 for the replica visor is so expensive.. i think genuine one is like 250 or so?
i know this was said before but.. anyone wanna sell me their stock chrome grille? i think i might just get someone else's stock one and black it out.. since my dad doesn't want me blacking out my one lol =.=... in case i wanna change back or blahblah..
and on that note, which would u guys think is better? blacked out stock grille or a carbon grille (in stock shape) - with a WHITE H and black background badge btw.
cheers
im not a fan of the carbon grille look.
i didnt want to spray my own grille black either, but luckily .k. sold me his for cheap and i was able to spray that instead. my oem grille will still be there tho; in case i get sick of the black grille look, or i want to sell the car as stock.
btw, where will u get ur white H badge from?
the trader here: carX can do it, but you need to give them dimensions and such =].
orly? i'd love a white H on a blue blackground lol
hahah yeah i was thinking to go for that too, but i dunnoo just could look out of place haha. i think id go with white and black still =D.
hey guys, I need your expertise in air filters, K&N drop in filters would do the job? or any suggestions/recommendations. looking to change mine soon..
cheers..
that would work great or get Mugen version as both cost the same but mugen is a mugen
I would also recommend removing the resonator http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/engin...resonator.html
What's the benefit of removing the resonator guys? Have you done that danjoy?
i want to remove the resonator box too, but im worried about getting any hydrolocking =/...
I was just thinking about removing the resonator box.
but too lazy to start it......:o
Well, if someone does... post a sound clip :D
i was checking out that 8thcivic.com forum and some1 removed the intake resonator box and customised their intake from this
http://i35.tinypic.com/2ever76.jpg
to this
http://i35.tinypic.com/2uoo2a0.jpg
the guy who did it said it "helped out the dbw lag and felt a tiny bit faster"
wonder whats the whole point in having an intake resonator box.. does it provide cleaner air? create some kind of air pressure?
has anyone tried to do this? not sure if it looks secure and how it would affect engine responsiveness.
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/bolt-...18-intake.html
this is for the R18A engine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOcdhuZpem4
lol we should all get together sometime for those who want to remove the resonator box =D. could make it a lot more fun and easier to take out lol.
someone on 8thgen also just took out the whole piping lol, so right where the airbox is inside the engine bay (where the air filter is) theres just an open gap to where the pipe would be.. apparantly that sounds a lot meaner.
haha yeah i remember reaing that to.. seems a bit hardcore to me.
hahah yeah. i think i might just get rid of the resonator box cos its a bitch when i wanna change foglights LOL.
btw.. any of u guys figured out how to change foglights with the mugen front kit on? cos i cant pul the black covering out, last time i had to remove the bumper a bit with a mate, but i really don't wanna do that again lol... and the resonator box is in the road so can't get to it from underneath on the passenger side...
Haven't done it yet with the FD but have done it on my previous car EK & before that the EG. Engine sounds meaner, not sure about the gains but it sounds faster :D I wouldn't do it on my FD as I'm pretty sure the engine warranty might get voided if the dealer sees what I've done when I take it for its service.
yeah i dont think ill do it till warranty runs out lol
anyone keen on doing this one?
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/engin...-fabulous.html
home-made sri~!
i would love to try doing that. my warranty will be gone by the end of the year, so i may try then
lol.. well that sorts that issue then..
btw wouldn't this make filtration issues? like huge clumps of dirt and shit flying up through the hose?
btw: heres another vid clip of some guy who made it in a different way:
http://s38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...mIntake023.flv
heres the link to his DIY:
http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/engin...ox-intake.html
its a lot louder than that other vid =]
just sold mah wheels :(
=O. why........ and how much.. and what are you planning to do with the oshdayss?
WHAT? For how much?
pm sent.
LOL i dont know, 19" work t1s? then i was thinking 19" ce28n but then i would have the same problem as the 20s (not being able to take cnrs fast LOL), then i was thinking 18" SSR Type F's... but very costly for some rims on a civic... still thinking atm, might even end up getting a fujitsubo legalis r
get some ce28s hahah =D. if only i could afford real rays ones.. im just gna settle for half the price rota reps =D
Does this actually route properly without any obstructions to the foggies? Has anyone on the forum tried it? If so, how high does it sit off the ground?
http://i35.tinypic.com/2uoo2a0.jpg
stig..? are you mon? and herbit.. your e-mail doesnt work..ive added you on msn.=S
WHAT? Stig those rims were the sex! Could have least sold them to me:(
hey stig.
i put some 18" ce28's on my car.. i didnt like it LOl..
looks weird. well looked weird compared ot my bbs wheels :\
can show yous if you want..
looking at gettin a short ram intake for my civic sport, all of them on ebay seems to be made for k20z3 with the RBC manifold... without changing to the RBC manifold, has anybody done a custom intake for the k20z2?
999 automotive was able to put in a topfuel zero-1000 sri into markcivicvti's fd1... maybe, since u know adam, he may be able to do something for ur fd2?
ballers
yea, but topfuel only made for R18a and k20z3... just wanna find out if theres any CEL issues with custom intake on the FD2??
u want my 19s? lol... a guy said he wanted to buy them, but his offer fell through.
although my offset is +35, i was reading on the 8thgen forums, with guys that had +28 with just camber kits and springs.
i thought about doing that, but i got a quote on the camber kit plus installation, and it was about the same as getting cheap coilover set.... im only looking for just for street use, mind you.
the ones from that guy on here?
and it has "TYPE R" instead of "RECARO"
sighs..
ekdez.. show us the ce28s lol =D. im thinking of getting 18s ......
imagine it with a smaller profile tire and higher offset.. and slammed =] my car was on stock sus in this pic..
these rims were for the 200. i think the dimensions were 18x8.5 +30 F and 18x9.5 +22 R
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...y/IMG_1040.jpg i like these better =]
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...y/IMG_0388.jpg
http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/n...y/IMG_0389.jpg LOLZ
dude! looks hot with the bbs lm's!
are they from kitbkk's accord euro?
any more pics?
wait for me to finish my car and ill show u. canberra gonna do a big photoshoot soon.
front is too high atm..i am yet to slam it LOL.. i left it high so i can make it up the ramps to get my j's tit xorst installed :\ they just happened to be a registered defect clearance station too LOL.. with 10cm high ramps.
Just fly to NSW last weekend, and visited dmx place.
He still alive :] but he's busy building his huge 60m2 decking at his rear home by himself DIY. Good luck for him lol
I will tell him to log in otherwise ozhonda will cancell his member after 3months :[
His car? Only new gauge and Tpms but he has genuine Mugen Type-R bonnet inside his shed. Holy sxxx. Huge vents
i dont think so, when i had my car up, and had a look the resonator sits back behind the passenger fender liner (plastic crap) almost directly above the drive shaft IIRC, the actual piping comes down and behind the battery and it didnt come anywhere near the foglight housing (mine is vti and doesn't have fogs) so it shouldnt interfere.
All i did was rip out the resonator, chop the snorkel and then using the battery mounting point, pointed it down towards the drive shaft (approximately 50mm above) and with the snorkel end facing forward, to also avoid any hydrolock i disconnected the rubber flange from my intake to the snorkel and left approx 50mm gap.
So far all it has done is made my intake sound b*llsh*t loud and i don't feel any gains at all hahaha.
will post pics if needed
hey guys,
ive got a problem here... got myself in buying a front strut brace and it connects to the bolts on top of the front towers, however the bolts are tight as i cant get myself in trying to unscrew it
any thought on how to loosen the bolts on top of the front towers?
as you know its hard to reach the bolts as the front towers are under the plastic coverings.. hard to get lik a bolt gun in to loosen
prob coz i installed coilovers, the guy who did it must have tighten the bolts hard
maybe get your machanic to do it..
im sure he will install it for you for like $50.
its a pretty easy simple job if you have the tools
ye.. i lik to do mods personally.. this is such a simple mod to do yet those stupid bolts is all that standin in the way
