lol u serious???
euro 1/5!
i guess if the accident is something to do with flippin our cars
our rating is 5/5
otherwise.....daily....0/5
then we must be safe in the inside....but not ppl outside XD
saw a black FD hooning it around waitara 2day at around 4pm.... possible mugen kit, with black rims.... i think probly an air filter to.. sounded beefy....
^ that was me, did it have a supra sticker on it?
lol cracker what mods u got under the hood to make it sound beefy?
it wasn't him lol
oh lol, oh it might be ej20i, fits his cars description haha. black rims with red lip? i think he comes down to waitara sometimes
MhMMMM was me...had some problem wif the new SRI i just installed...car kept stalling and engine lights on...honda told me to take it out for a trash around the block
LOL!
ohhhhh. what sri have ya got on it? haha
well wad i did, i resetted the ecu and den the engine light turns off...and i let the car idle for a bit 10 minutes and den rev it abit for a while and it shud be fine i hope...since all day yesterday, the car stalls in every traffic light...it made me look bad i swear...
btw, i got a simota intake from sam at shift performance....awesome guy
here it is

http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z...i/IMG_0258.jpg
i did that, more than 5 times lol but the engine light will comes up again after you drive it for a day. hopefully not happen to urs. what brand is ur SRI? mine is simota and one of my mate use simota as well on his civic and he had the same problem. he tried to ask honda and they said its the lev system of vtec that tell us the engine got too much air, have no idea with that statement. i think k&n does a better job on this.
LOL just saw ur image after i reply ur post. the conclusion is, simota didnt do a good job on civic SRI :thumbdwn:, i will try to change my filter with 3A Racing on monday, will see how it go.
hmmmmm well im worried noW!!lol
let me know after eh, are u changing the whole system or just the filter?if just the filter i got a k&n at home thinking of swapping it
i'll update u man 2nite...u indo yea?
nice.. air filter looks pretty cramped in there.. plannin to get lik a heat shield?
i'm thinkin of hittin up a CAI.. either Injen or K&N
hey ivan, i just replaced my simota to a K&N i used to use for the Wrx...so it was a smaller filter...the car idles nicely at around 760 compared to simota idled between 400 - 1000 which was weird. the car does not give any sign of stalling anymore...but yet to discover in near future...
its all good signs atm
i had the exact same experience with my Simota SRI but mine had a K&N filter on the end. i think you'll find that the Check Engine light will constantly turn on. no matter how many times you reflash the ecu. all in all i decided to take it out and put the stock box back in, but i do miss the sound. hopefully the same doesnt happen to you but i just thought id let you know my experience
i thought you gonna wait till the engine light on again with ur simota lol well thats good, hopefully it will not on again. i guess the filter is allright, but maybe too much for civic. did you put the simota filter to other car? wondering if this ok for others. and yes im indo hehe
has any body tried this CAI? would like to know if this brand is any better than SIMOTA since its pratically doulbe the price.
I would definetly buy this if there would be no hassle on engine light or any king of error code.
The only hassle i could see if the fitment which a bit tight but then again its CAI so it should better that SRI.
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=110410590128
yea i was gona wait...but i cudnt wait
the k&n doesnt produce as loud sounds as the simota...i guess its not as much air
hehe
hmm dc5r wheels are on the car.. can drive around but i don't feel too safe as when the wheels are on there is like 0.5mm clearance to the brake calipers at the front. Seems also when i turn left sometimes i can hear it scraping a little - not a loud noise but audible - should i take the wheels off or whatt? fkn gay clearance
INJEN CAI FTW =D
no problems what so ever
hmmmmm...with k&n filter...still a fail....
im thinking the breather shud probably direct it to the filter some how...
oil breather? it could be. do u have any spare oil breather? today i was driving the car with engine light still on but somehow after i check air on every tyre then fill up the gas, the engine light is off, really happy, then going home, still off. go to my mates house, still off, but when i drove back home, its on again :thumbdwn:
I'll think up of a way on how to mod the breather to connect directly to the filter hose.
thanks edm branch - few pics of new mods:

- don't mind the tennis ball lol, didn't even see it? wtf random kid threw a tennis ball at my car wtf?!
http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...L/IMG_0067.jpg
lame - pictures suck.. shud try get more as my car is relatively clean atm =]
* dc5r wheels & a mugen rep grille w/ plastic radiator cover thing removed as it looks dodgey with it in as the grille finishes; gap; plastic; gap; bonnet. FTL!
whats everyone think of the wheels? look ok or not?
to be honest here... the dc5r rims look too OEM-looking for me.. are they 16, 17"??
but that front lip looks good.. car needs to be lowered definitely.. make that front lip stand out
they are 16" johnny. they too small for fd. need 17",18"+
@ .k., what do i think of your new mod..
not the biggest fan of your new rims. although its far better then rolling on steelies! =]
i hate fat tires. sorry LOL.. should get a 40 profile on that and then slam like bricisa, i think, the guy with the black fd on buddyclubs. then it'd be ok =]
yeh big step up from steelies =]
usually im not a fan of fat tyres either but in this case they help to fill up the guards and make car less 4wd looking, will be lowered sometime this year i hope once tax money comes back i'll look into getting coilovers n dump the biatch!
i was going to buy enkei rp01's black w/ blue lip but seller was an r-tard
yeah the black ones u showed everyone a while back?
17"s yeah? should have grabbed them ;)
or even those fn2r wheels on here for sale.. they'd have filled your gaurds and looks even better then the dc5 ones..
18" FTW.. haha
ill be happy with 17"
at least u got em cheap, khoi. why would u save for coils? u gonna be doing some tracking? id just dump it on low as springs lol.. save myself some money to just go for the looks :p
i just want the adjustability and be able to hav fun on mt runs. scared if i get springs it won't be the right drop i want etc?
oh.. so dropping 2" on skunk2 springs will fk my shocks over?.. lucky you told me now lol.. looks like i wont drop until i get coils then.. phew.. haha. how about 1.4" on tein stechs?
i just dont like a stiff ride. i know that some coilovers do have adjustable dampening, but they do cost more than the cheaper ones and the ride comfort is still harsh. id go for a spring and shock combo coz i just want the lowered look and i'll only be driving on the streets, not track.
u can get away with a good amount of time on the stock shocks before they blow, and when they do, u can always get the shocks to fit ur lowering springs, right?
a good set of springs and shocks may only cost the same amount (or cheaper) as a cheapo quality coilover. if i just wanted to lower my car, i'd go for the springs. i have no money to turn my fd into a performance beast lol :p
you mention you don't want a stiff ride.. lowered springs greater then 1.5" on a stock shocks gives you a bouncy ride.. your not making sense dude. i'd rather have a "stiffer" ride and be in control of my car, then to have non captive springs and be bouncing out of control around a corner. your better off to pay that little extra, besides your car is detectable with lowered springs that aren't captive and its considered dangerous, where as coil overs are acceptable.
lowered springs will do the job. but like you said.. "it will only last you a certain amount of time".. there is no set time limit and there is always the possibility they will blow straight away. either way i dont see the point in short term fix's.. each to their own, im only giving you my 2c.
and no. if you get a set of lowered springs.. its not guaranteed to find a shock to suit that specific lowered spring, although there are some exceptions.
i dunno how much you research your stuff before you do stuff to your car like lowering it etc.. but a coilover's diameter of the shock is way smaller then the stock shock, when lowering your car the offset and width of the wheels play an important roll in determining weither its going to work or not.. lowered spring may give you that lowered look but did you consider where your wheel is going to end up in relation to the chassis.. just remember springs cant be adjusted and if you chop them then you an idiot.
i dont mean to be rude but look where you ended up with your rims.. your real keen to sell up cos im guessing you didnt consider that type of stuff.
up to you in the end..
all im trying to say is your better off to spend that little extra to save the heart break that you WILL get from the short term fix.
doing it first time correctly is gonna save ou plenty of money in the long run. thats all im gonna say.
coilover is the only way to go
it does wonders as fallenangel once told me
LOL!
agreed with dez and ej20
its better off getting the entire suspension setup rather than the springs since they may not necessary match the dampers... each decent coilover would have the springs matched to the damper setting of the shocks (thus you pay for the R&D that goes into these setups)
and srzly, better save up for a coilover setup and it would give you benefits and save you alot of trouble later on down the track
and also aero, a coilover setup doesnt necessarily mean that you're going for a performance beast.. after some research and you could find a reasonable price suspension that gives a really comfortable ride as well as lower the car superlow and give great street performance.. like the tanabe sustec pro-nf.. hehehe
but lets say black8thgen's situation. he was considering skunk2 springs and they also do happen to do shocks for the FDs. you can get both for your car for cheaper than a good quality and well known brand of coilover and they will do a good job with his stock sport wheels.
like most ppl in here, im a student and dont have much of an income (especially with also having a girlfriend.. lol). it may be short-term, but i'd have the confidence to have enough money to get better suspension later on, after uni.
touche' on that one :p.
at the time i purchased the wheels i also had enough money in my bank account to camber them and lower the ride. but due to circumstances, i had to give most of that money to my parents..
lesson learnt.
mate, if ur relly interested, im thinking of letting my coils go for a better upgrade
hehehehehe
in love wif the teins and pedders...they actually felt the same and roughly the same kind of money?!
im 20. a 3rd year uni student too LOL..
and with a g/f.. living out of home. whats you trying to say? lol
just got my marks back, a semester of d's ftw!
anyhow time for bed. dont take anything i say personally.. just food for thought! =] rims were hot tho.
hmm i heard about skunk2 springs being suited with OEM shocks but are the stock shocks ideal in being lowered?? maybe to a certain amount
ye a gf would suck a guy dry (i mean money-wise :p)
im a 3rd year uni student and i cant afford crap LOL
working decreases my grades too -_-
i'm have an Injen SRI on my sport, same problem here at the beginning, though it is because of sucking up too much hot air. taken to honda and they told me to try to reinstall the intake and make sure connections between manfold and the filter are very tight no gaps at all (screw the metal things as hard as i can, not breaking it ofcause) and seal the connections with tapes (<-which i havnt, sounds not making sense). then i reset the ECU by removing the batt and fuse. guese wt, the light never on again. :D
thats my experience, hope its help.
hey stig.. have u got buckets on yet?
Gonna try that as soon as I'm home. Umm, ask nny911 about his springs. He's having a mad fun time in his car after lowered with pedders springs only. I drove it, omg. It's disgusting. My hack hurts and bounces eveywhere. Can't have drinks in the car for sure. It's funny. Feels like hydrolics. Hahahahha
ahhh, this is making me think, cheap short term fix with tein springs or skunk2s... or save up round 2k for coils =/..
im in year 12 at school btw LOL... pretty much next to no income =[
edit: at ej.. LOL. yeah reason i dont wanna drop it on springs is cos i hate a bouncy ride lol, atm the stock shocks/springs are reasonably stiff and yeaaaa... but im wondering if tein springs will be all bouncy.. seeing as they are teins (hoping their stiff)
fk me. yr 12 and u have a fd sport :( ballin LOL
i only had a ek1 in yr 12 lol
anyhow its holidays guys go work and make those mods happen =]
lol yeah parents bought it for me but ill be paying it back later when i get a proper job haha. almost holidays for me too.. but need to study the whole 2 fkn weeks =[... no mods for me really lol.
u got hsc?
hey all,
has anyone looked into getting a nose mask or car bra of some sort.. i got a stone flung at my car whilst driving next to a derty holden.. lucky it hit my windscreen..
http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/5...f13f81cc0o.jpg
It kind of ugly. Hahaha. My bonnets effed. Bc coilovers are like 1600 not nec. 2000.
thanks.. nar, it's carbon backed emblem.. got it from overseas.. same ones that liquid23 has.. and 18" XD9 :P
woo.. sexy car.. next project will be lower it? xD
edmbranch is that at glen waverley? Primary school car park?
yeah i have the buckets on already, still trying to tinkle with the air bag light that comes on though (work in progress... sort of)
oh you mean these?
