Depends on the shortshifter...

that makes sense...
i duno if u guys have changed urs but the one i have u put brass spacers in the rod and that gives u smaller h pattern but keeps the throw the same... however making it shorter or lowering the pivot point fixes it....
EXCEPT shortening the shifter will/can give u harder to change gears because its got less leverage
hey guys i have the 2.5" exhaust with extractors.was just wondering how much power the stock cat is taking away from the extractors and exhaust? cheers also wat other cats fit on our DA's that would make it better? cheers
if ur gonna change the cat anyways... bust it through so its empty and then compare before and after... the hi flow cats r about the same as no cat.. but i dont think u would notice much difference to be honest.
having said that its a double edge sword itll give u more flow for sure (with no cat) but u might not get back pressure and will loose power because of it.... not to mention the smell u get from no cat either
im going through this with a mate of mine and his xr6 turbo...
u might find that cat might be alrite... i heard u can wrap the cats and get them hotter and they will work better but dont quote me on this...
Hey guys, I just stumbled accross this thread and i love it.
I've got a DA9 with a 1998 GSR B18C, recently rebuilt. Anyway i'm currently in the process of overhauling my car. Everything in my car is standard apart from the mechanical side of things and being a 1990 model car it's all starting to make horrid noises.
Soooooooo does anyone here have any suggestions for new suspension. My stock suspension is starting to creek and groan on every little bump and it's really annoying. I'm not looking to take my car racing or anything like that, my car is just to get me around but i would like to have it corner a little better and sit a little lower than stock. So i was looking around the $800 or less mark for suspension.
Also does anyone have or know of a DA9 that's being sold for parts of selling parts?
My driver side seat is starting to tear a little and the rails aren't solid so the seat rocks with about an inch movement. lol or maybe there's some nice after market seats and rails i could snatch up from somewhere.. hehe any suggestions on these would be muchly appreciated :)

you could pick up a set of d2 coilovers for close to that sort of money, have a look on ebay, however I've never used them, so can't really say much for or against them.
the most common/recommended combination is koni yellow shockabsorbers paired with some lowering springs.
chances are that most of the 'noises' are coming from your bushings, and some lithium grease could quieten it down a bit.
use some wd40 on it itll help... but usually the exhaust systems r all rusted and stuffed mine was...
ive heard the konis r good aswell...
u can usually get a rebushing kit off ebay for a good price hey and depends if ull do it urself or not u can save alot of money... and that way its overhauled ur full suspension and u wont have to worry bout regreasing stuff...
as for the seats i was told wrx seats look good in da9s :P and are plentiful to... i need to do my seat real bad its horrible i hate it...
hehe, thanks for the replys. I'll look into the konis sometime later in the week when i get some spare time. lol also turns out a fair bit of the creaking noise from the rear end wasn't suspension anyway, it was actually my sub box rubbing against the side of the boot :o lolol my bad. BUT there's still noise from the suspension when i go over speed humps etc so i'm definately getting it changed.
On another note. I need to get my car tuned because the ecu i have once the car is warmed up, if i turn it off and leave it for a little bit and start it up and drive and it hasn't gone completely cold yet then it doesn't cruise at a constant speed properly, it jolts as if i'v suddenly taken my foot compeltely off the accelerator (compression stopping) and then if i give it slightly more on the throttle it kicks back and realises the tb isn't closed rofl.
So before i spend money on a tune i want to get cams changed in my car. Does anyone know where i can get some cams? ITR cams would be cool. But maybe a little more aggressive if i could. hehe thanks in advance guys :)
how much is a decent tune? ive been wanting to look into it to:)
