i on the other hand didn't have a dremel... so after a while of drilling, cutting, sawing the fibreglass trying to clean up the messy pods, i almost gave up. but then i the old chisel and hammer saved me! took a while but was exactly wot i needed.
the results... only did one, trimmed and sanded

ok, the surface isn't 100% smooth, so i wasn't sure if i should smooth it out wif putty/bondo/woteva then prime and paint it. i thought maybe leaving it would kinda look like the door plastic, it's not perfectly smooth either... hehe
anyways that's probably it for next few days until i finish the other one and paint the bugger. hopefully all will be dun by this weekend! *phew* wot a week! :D
going good, cant wait to see the final product, imagne the satisfaction u will have when its all done.
:) Very good
good job mate, damn make me wanna have a go at my setup soon...
i wanna get red trims on my regular hatch...
wat sort of material is it, anyone know where i can get it?
did you actually put fibreglass matt onto it? or just resin over the cloth?
and if you dont put fibreglass onto it, wont that make it britte and not as strong?
i really have no clue about this so it is a serious question
ive seen some DIY fibreglass pods and stuff on the net and it seems like you missed a step?
also i was just looking at your photos and was thinking how are you going to mount that back on to the door?
i mean you have fibreglassed the whole think how are you going to mount it?
i didn't put fg matt on it... i followed an online tute from caa and they didnt use it, so i thought wot the hell it seems easier and quicker not using the matt so i didn't :DQuote:

i dunno if it will last overtime, but i'm happy wif it for now. i can always apply another coat of resin and fg matt, but i can't be bothered :D
planning is the key!!! :DQuote:
