wow...just got online...ozhonda is spiralling into a big big hole...lowest point in OH history y0 ! i also rekon jinrai went a tad too far for banning the poor kid....i've seen much much much stupider threads open than that one...
perhaps a mod couldv'e just moved the thread to intro or something. Good to see mr. trippa worked up . :)

(like sitting in the corner and thinkin bout wat you did) ... most of yous have very valid points on this topic and im very glad to see that most of us can distinguish wrong from right and add ur 2 cents just to let the mods know how important it is for yous to know the system is fair..... its not settled and i feel there more to come ... all in all i think the best thing would be to just learn from this ... JINRAI may ave been in the wrong however the penalty issued was not harsh for the obscenety we witnessed on the thread...

I'd just like to have my little say that jinrai did act a bit extreme, like i said in the thread if you stir someone whatta u rekon will happen? 50% wont do nething while the other percent will blast at you, I believe trmn8a didnt deserve the ban. I know several times I've abused one particular mod as he provoked things but everytime I was PM'd by other members telling me to edit it otherwise I'd be banned for sure, even if I was in the right.
Another thing I agreed with the locking of threads, srsly nearly every thread gets locked, some call for some good discussion and what happens? A mod locks it thinking "its going knowhere" where in fact it hasn't, so many times this has happened and so many times has this pissed me off when some of the most interesting topics are locked cause a mod believes its wrong, even if it isnt breaching any forum rules.
Plus I noticed alot of tension between members in the forum I've been wanting to say this but alot of the members here are stuck up snobs, this is a community forum, I believe the belief in 'JDM' has destroyed this forums reputation and believe me it has, (knowing what other people from other forums talk about), alot of the members dont respect any one who's car isnt in the JDM style, you see it always, just look in Shoguns thread or many others, members take out personal attacks just cause a car isnt JDM, grow up, variety is what makes life. Now this is what all the contradictions begin. Members respond with negative opinions and comments then mods say watch your mouth, then members say they have a right of speech and vice versa and it gets messy, i really cbf continuing on the whole JDM issue other than I think some members should grow up and accept other styles of car, I know a couple of members who dont wont to post up anything to do with their cars because they know the JDM boys will attack them. And no I dont hate JDM, its my favourite style of modding cars.

I believe it's good to see more threads being locked. Recently, the amount of bs threads have been ridiculous. I'm not sure if some of the other older members have realised but we never used to have as much useless/not really worthy threads back in the days and you'd hardly see threads being locked or deleted. It seems as if whenever anyone finds something new on the net, no matter what it is, they feel it is extremely necessary to post it up. I noticed alot of the older members have stop posting in the forum too.Quote:

Not saying this happens often, but it did before someone voiced their concerns about the state of the lounge area with 70% threads locke back in the day when panda had his locking fit. Now its relatively low down but still some interesting topics do get locked for off topic reasons. The lounge is meant for discussion, who really cares if its not up to forum standards or whatever, I'm sure older members left the forum not because of what was posted in the lounge but more so what was posted in other forums and what I believe to be a main factor, members attitudes.
as earlier... yfin informed us that theres alot of work going behind curtains and its tiring cleaning up the boards and i see where ur coming from as im a mod myself in another forum but if its so much work then there needs to be a new mod in place to cater for excess work and sure someone who could behave like a mod.

as moderators we just follow the terms and conditions and the guidlines given to us (well we should anyway)
i've locked plenty of threads which i would prefer to leave open but i don't really see it as my choice if it it breaking the T&C.
the ones that get locked that aren't breaking the T&C are usually ones that have been destroyed by personal attacks or off topic spam.... or it's something that has been posted a gazillion times.
no matter what we do we will have people saying we are moderating too much or not enough, we try to walk that tightrope in between.
mods aren't perfect, far from perfect at all.... just like everyone else here. there is so much utter crap posted and i feel the majority of time the mods to a good job of keeping it all in check
instead of holding it all in then having a cry about it, if a mod makes a decision which you believe to be wrong PM THEM.
i know i am open to any pm's regarding moderating concerns, i'm sure the other mods are the same :thumbsup:
I too have been a member ofr a while now, reading posts long before I even signed up and it is true the past 6 mths have been somewhat controversial...
I can feel mods are becoming harsher with less tolerance and in saying so, I believe it is also justified, with the new "Gen Zs" of OH coming on in droves. What we need to do is come back to reality and follow the age old rule that your parents taught you. "Think before you do".
Think about what you're doing AND
Think about the consequences
I may not agree with every decision made, but if OH wasn't as stringently moderated, what would become of this site?
