A lip will cover 80% of the imperfections on that front bar
Hahah here then

youd hate to see my front bar
:rofl
I'm playing a game of Words With Friends (iPhone Scrabble) with my gf, and the letters I started with were R E S P R A Y. 56 points!
Hm, a front lip would definitely help.
^ Still recommend the Nikon brah.
Was thar your first owned dslr?
Me and Dubstein are going halves in a D3100 to learn on :D udig??
replaced one of the bulbs in the climate control knob. worked for 1 minute, then the bulb next to it blew. need to order another from honda. fml
put my muffler back on
haha.
Ha, the looks aren't important, but the fact that the 550D is made in Japan, while the D3100 is made in Thailand, is a major deciding factor for me. We're on a Honda forum, so we should all agree that there's no point buying from Thailand when you can get Japanese build quality!
Not that the D3100 will necessarily be poorly made, as it's still a Nikon, but, you know... It's not a Japanese-built Canon.
Rotated tyres. Now I have nothing to do -.-
sprayed my rims

Ballin, is that at a 7/11?
Enkei tarmacs fitted. Now to find some tyres in the correct profile. Thinking federal 595rsr..

Washed it yesterday, turned out pretty shitty though. Think from now on I will just do it at home.

Getting a 2.25inch canon sports exhaust, need some sort of sound and power :D
Finally got around to getting some pics. Didn't do this today but recently lol.

Had a mate who thought it would be sick if he got a cannon on his lancer. I hate his car now :/ Lesson learnt about cannons (Y)
Cheers for the info. The ku36 should last longer (180 wear rating vs. 140 for the 595rsr) but they don't come in 205/45/16.
I like what you are running on your car at the moment. What are your wheel and tyre specs? I've got 16x7 +32 wheels and I'm hoping to get away with not rolling the rears by using 205/45 tyres..
ahh ok, I was told that it was the other way round. guess you can't believe everything you hear huh? :S
anyway the specs on the wheels are 16x7 +33 6.9kg each. tyres are 205/45R16.
these wheels work perfectly for the way my car sits, just a nice offset and no guard rolling required! :)
Cool well technically when I get my tyres the wheels should sit essentially the same as yours with no rolling required :). I think mine are poking more atm because of the big tyres I am currently running and the height the car is at. However, soon to be fixed!
yeah it looks like your tyres over hang the wheels lip a bit, my old 17's had that and they rubbed the guards whenever I hit a reasonable bump, but now nothing at all :)
if you're basically going with the same wheel/tyre setup as me (only slightly different offset) I'm sure you'll be more then happy with it :)
In the last few days:
- Bought the darn thing
- New RE002's on the front, will replace back once they're word
- Bought some car washing products and gave the car a wash, claybar and polish
What's happening now:
- New control arm bushings
- New front disk pads

All of your wheels look sick, guys. Good spray job on the black and red, looks great. And your black DC5 looks mean, Peach!
cheers indie

Anyone wana buy a Spoiler ? ;)
Keep the spoiler just incase you wanna sell the car, no one's gonna buy that shit anyway, not even for $5. You planning to go lower man? Wingless doesn't work that well with stock height imo
Yeah i'll see what happens with the wing, going to have the car for quite a long time. And yeah planning on getting some king/eibach springs soon. Im not happy at all with the height that its at now.. lol
Not going to get these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/94-01-Int...item4aae1f8ad4
But what do you think? xD
Looking at these 2.5" Drop http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SKUNK2-Ci...ht_2630wt_1143
My take on the whole lowering thing is first lower just a tad, maybe 1.5" and learn to drive around like that, angling driveways, learning where you can go and where you can't. Then after that, go whatever height you want cos you'll be able to judge. But don't go really low off the bat, you gonna fkn rip off your front bar or some shit.
I'm on king springs but i've never used other springs so i can't really provide a comparison. My opinion is that it looks better, good price (esp. second hand) but they are just way too soft, a lot of suspension travel so your wheel moves up and down a lot, depending on width and offset it'll scrub on your guards. Train tracks are really these springs worst enemy. Speed humps are ok if you slow down enough but my breakfast comes up every morning when i go over the rails and my P plate falls off the dash lol
2.5" front will be ok if you don't have a lip (i've got slightly under 2" with a mugen lip and i can get around) but when turning it might rub depending on your wheels. 2.25" rear is about what i've got, doesn't tuck, you need about 3" for a good tuck
my opinion after wasting money on 2 sets of lowering springs in to get coilovers.
then slam it
BC's BR series coilovers are great quality and nice and cheap.
don't get lowering springs past an inch and a bit without lowered shocks if you care about handling haha.
It doesn't cost anything man, you buy second hand springs, sell em for the same price. Only thing is you gotta put the springs in, takes like 2-3 hours of your time. Same with adjusting coilovers, except apparently they aren't comfy for a daily if you don't wanna get all butthurt
Aight Im just concerned about lowering because wear I live there are alot of horrible roads, not to mention my shithole of a driveway.. I'll show you a picture of my boss trying to get up it with 2.5' lowered kings.. Funny as.
Anyway thanks for all the useful information everyone.
Practical + looks = 1 finger gap + lip
lip = unpractical
Here the picture of boss's lancer with kings

Couldnt go any further at all
A little vom in mouth... that is disgusting. Disgusting body kit, disgusting wheels, oh and it's a lancer!
proper pic of ur driveway?
Tommrow ill get you one.
you forgot about the clear taillights LOL
Yeah i know, he knows, you know. Actually this was his first ever car, and he regrets doing stuff to it, had it for over 7 years i believe.. Just to lazy to sell it or get new stuff for it, Don't bag him out to much haha. He doesn't hoon around town and take pride in his ride like most of those rice lancers.
And the rims are not that bad, weights in at around 6kg.
This probably belongs in the noob thread, but if I put chrome tail lights on my car will it handle better?
fo sho it willz brahseph
Why so many people got stupid ass chrome tail lights? They aren't even cheap... must be cos they got them plastered all over the walls at supercheap and autobarn eh
The wheels are too small, and the car is too low. Terrible combination.
got some H4H HIDS on my da9 today, ignore my parkers, will get leds soon and got my accord lip on the other day. will be getting accord side skirts on soon also ;D

This is Dubstein's Driveway
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/.../IMG_33361.jpg
The photo doesn't do it justice, it's actually alot steeper than it looks :thumbdwn:
Took the driveway on about that angle today.... Ripped my front lip off
How can you tell if you're scrubbing? I honestly wouldn't be able to tell even if i had my music off
It's normally pretty obvious! Mine is an annoying squeak and it occurs everytime I hit a corner hard
New ones, federal rsrs same as yours..it must be close so maybe if I remove that black strip of plastic I may have some joy.
haha yyeah i tried to aim it, i think its okay. Haven't had any complaints from other drivers. my da9 was my first car and i love it to bits ! yeah u can say that, fast enough to get me places (: just need to get my 2.25inch exhaust on and save up for suspension and it should be all good ;D
I get squeaks sometimes ever since i dropped my rear further but i thought might be the shocks making the sound. Happens when i corner fast, speed bumps and angling driveways? No marks on the tyres so i dunno if the shocks are blown/blowing or if tyre rubs
