can anyone recommend good tyres for 235/35r19? rough prices would be cool too..thanks well I have narrowed the brands down to Yoko, Dunlop, Falken and may be Bridgestone. But from experiences I have used yoko es100. they were really good. great grip. Im looking for a set of tyres that give me grip but say not for best grip for track and stuff. thanks
Yokohama C.Drives 205/50 R16
$210. They were the only C.Drives that would fit with the closest OD. A little wide for the rims, so sidewall flex really shows through. As far as wet grip goes, they are pretty good. And dry grip is good. Don't have axel tramp any more (old tyres were Bridgestone Turanzas). Done track work with these and are a little quicker than Turanzas.

Dry was alright, wet was terrible. Had good sidewalls, but would axletramp and were easily damaged by pushing the car.
For the next set of tyres when the C.Drives wear out, I was looking at either AD07, F1 GSD3 or top end Dunlop/Yokos. If the AD07 isn't DOT approved in Australia I wont get them, but which of these are better?
goodyear revspecs, getting them on my car this week.
test drove em, when it was on an integra, handled great, quiet, but apparantly wears out quick! lol.

Any more feedback on the Toyo T1R's? I have a quote for $174 fitted and ballanced 205/45 R16.
I have a DC2R. Its only a weekend driver so I want some sticky dry weather tyres without going to semi-slicks.
I was getting some Advan AD07 of Maxhonda-power, but his suppliers sent him the wrong order.
I was also looking at Yoko ES100's, but I am told they don't make them anymore?
So yes, more feedback on the Toyo T1R's please. Or any other dry weather sticky tyre you think is good for me:thumbsup:
I have them on my civic, handles great and the tyre wear is good aswell.
i was initially gonna get toyo t1-r heard they r a great tyre but didnt have them in my size so i paid a bit more for goodyear eagle gs-d3 which r pretty awesome.
And does anyone else have goodyear gs-d3's made in Australia cause mine r made in Aus and i thought 18s and higher r all made in germany.
has anyone tried falken fk452? how are they? they r the cheapest I can go for 19"or else im considering yokohama advan v103 but thats 485 per tyre for my size so if falken fk452 is good i wanna get them...thanks
atm i have Pirelli Dragon (info) which i think are very nice and grippy, both in wet and dry... im running 195/50/15 and it costed me 115 per tyre.
goodyear f1 gs-d3 made in aus for 18s?
i got my set 12months ago, and i got 'made in germany' tyres, not aussie stuff....
looks like the goodyear brand is now aussie made. Even the benchmark f1's :thumbdwn:

althought pricey, the s03's are VERY good. I had a chance to drive a car on mc with s03's and they perform very well!
My stock tyres on my 05 DC5 TypeS is Bridgestone RE050 and they are almost gone, i was reccomended by the dealer at Bob Jane that Yoko ES100 performs better and cheaper by $60 per tyre. He also said RE050 is the best tyre for bridgstone atm, better than S03. Should i get ES100 or stick with RE050, anyone know if advan sport is any good,
I have experience with ES100, they are very sweet tyres, great grip and soft but I think it was a lil noisy buy not too bad. Now im having Advan sports v103 and they are the best tyres I have had in my entire life lol.
Currently using the es100's and i am loving them!

How do the A539's compare to the ES100's ?? Which of the two would be considered the better performing tyre ?? i can't quite work out how they rank from the website.

a-539 are discountinued from what i was told.....and c-drive was the placement...
c-drive are supposedly to exceed the a539 in all departments.... i have them on now and though they may not exceed the a539 quality in all departments aint got no complaints going from a539 to c-drive...

lol, okay, they're good for people on a budget, they're not the best. they're just okay, just don't expect much from em, traction is always a problem with those kind of tyres.
for me, i'd never ever go to that rubbish again, well rubbish in my own opinion.
too many close calls, or things that could of been avoided have happened becuase of crappy tyres.. lol.

I have a few tyres to comment on:
- Bridgestone Potenza S03 Pole Position: These are a very good street tyre, great grip in the wet and dry, progressive, and gives warning on the limit. Towards the end of their life, they get a bit hard so the grip will decrease considerably. If you look after them you will get very good mileage out of a set... 35,000km -40,000km is possible.
- Bridgestone Potenza RE010: Above average grip, appaling life (my set lasted under 20,000km), gets very slippery towards the end of their life. Not much warning before letting go, can get quite hairy especially when they are nearly finished.
- Falken Azenis RT215: Contrary to popular belief, these are not a semi slick! they are a very high performance road tyre, not an R compound.
Also contrary to popular belief, they do not require warming up (as they are not an R compound).
Provides higher levels of grip than any other road tyre, have very stiff sidewalls. Great tyre, but don't last very long. Expect to see 10,000 - 15,000km out of a set.
Apparently the new RT216 are even better, but i've yet to try them. Saw some WRX STi and Nissan 200sx run around 1:12 around wakefield on the RT216.
- Dunlop Le Mans LM702: not a very performance oriented tyre. More suited to family sedans. Reasonably quiet, average grip, and gets noisy towards the end of their life as they get hard. Should be good for high mileage.
- Dunlop SP Sport Maxx: Initial impressions for this tyre is excellent grip with very low noise levels. Now that i've done a few thousand k's on these tyres I have found that the noise level has gone up a bit. Grip is still excellent in wet and dry. They give good warning before letting go. And I'm unable to lose straight line traction on these tyres, even in the wet.
- Dunlop D88J: Old school semi slick. Unpredictable and lets go suddenly when dry. Excellent grip when warm. Expensive and low mileage (as expected). Not sure about wet weather performance, probably not very good. Very stiff sidewalls.
- Kumho V700 semi slick: an R compound tyre. very grippy in the dry once warmed up. As they are an R compound, expect low life. Haven't tried in the wet, but judging from the tread pattern, they shouldn't be too bad. Quite soft. Gives warning before losing traction, very responsive and correctable when limit has been exceeded.
Ahhh, left out the Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3:
Quite a good tyre for the money, the compound is harder than the BS S03 and Dunlop SP Sport Maxx.
Due to the harder compound, these tyres should be very durable; which is also indicated by the 280 TWR of them.
Grip is very good, and the tyres hold up very well, even on the track. With the long and thin tread pattern I would expect them to squirm a bit under hard cornering though.
If given the choice, i would take the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx or the BS S03 over the GSD3.
I've heard unconfirmed stories that the German GSD3's are better than the Australian made ones.
i've just purchased a set of dunlop re6060's, great tyre.. handles well, very quiet, under very hard braking, it does not lock up, very happy with em.

if you can't get your tyres to lock up or your abs to engage under hard braking, then your weakest link is your brakes and there may be something wrong; better check your pads and fluid and make sure everything's ok.Quote:

my old tyres used to lock up like no tomorrow, when i changed them today, they were very grippy, and held up under some heavy braking.
so in my books, they great tyres.
yeah optimal braking is acheived at the point just before the tyres break traction (skid). So locking up isn't max braking efficiency; but you should always be ABLE to lock em up if you stood on the brakes, otherwise something is not right.Quote:

can you post up some details on the Dunlop RE6060? I have never heard of this tyre and can't find any info on it on the web.
If you got it in that size, they look to be around the same price as the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx.
I got the Sport Maxx for $1100, thats for 2 in 225-45-17 and 2 in 245-40-17. Fitted and balanced.
SiR, the Sport Maxx.. They have excellent wet grip and will last longer than the T1-R.
Kit: I've never heard of the RE6060's and couldn't find anything on it either. Could it just be another name for the SP Sport Maxx?
And thanks for the feedback - I've heard some good things about the Sport Maxx. They're a bit pricier than what I would like to pay, but $20 per tyre cheaper than the price I got quoted for the T1-R's.
The Proxes 4, on the other hand, is the cheapest out of the G3, T1-R and Sport Maxx at $188 a pop. Wouldn't mind some feedback on this tyre - the people on 1010tires seem to like it though: http://www.1010tires.com/tirereviews...e_reviews.html

if you want u can get khumo ecstas 205/40/17 brand new for $95 EACH!
i ended up paying $420 all up (4 tyres) including shipping from ebay.
took 3 days then arrived. super fast.
not the best of tyres, but very decent, and definately bang for buck.
can somebody advise which brand tyres i should get that will suit my needs:
basically after something cheapish ($150 give take), safety and must be soundfree! ive had bad exp with noisy tyres b4 and its annoying! also does anyone know whether inaccurate wheel alignment, therefore non straight steering wheel can lead to loud noisy tyres? im not after a set of performance tyres or tyres that are made for racing.
