Mate, this was already done to my intake when I bought the car. Sounds like what you are attempting. Not too sure what the original owner did, but from what he told me, he removed the original box and air resonator, put a pod on and made a custom pipe and heat shield to redirect cold air to the pod.

I haven't seen a CEL problem, so either it works or he took out the bulb on the dash :p
And because I bought it this way I can't tell you what the diff in sound is like.
Where did you get the visors ylo00w?
Thanks for the pics and info evo. Nice to see a bit of carbon in your engine bay ;)
Btw, it looks like he's used the stock pipe for the cold air induction (that previously led to the resonator chamber).
Mine's an FD2 so it will look a bit different to that as the intake manifold is at the front :)
Mugen visors came from JDMyard.
Here some specs
RPF1 17 x 8 x 45
stock rubber
215 x 45 x17 not too stretched, will go 225 next time.
Lowered on Tein Htech springs
Finally, a car with a popular stud pattern! Standard ET is about +35?
standard offset is +45
How are you guys with FDs lowered on just springs feeling? Bumpy?
Anyone know how to remove the license plate bulb covers?
