ok ive only done 265kms in the integra since owning it. cause of my work car. but ive managed that with around 1/3rd of the gauge. so should be interesting what it gets. :)
ok guys i ended up getting 540kms and thats very mixed. 2 mountain trips aswell :)
alot better on fuel than the evo
Im getting about 400-450ks to a tank with injen cai and vtecing atleast once a day hahah! 50 city/50 highway
Used to get 500 standard.
Btw, i always use Shell Vpower..
boys, it depends on highway drives and cold starts with 5 min drives
ever since my cai.. my mileage has gone up the rooof! bloody VTAK
wouldnt denser colder air make more power and burn leaner as its denser so it should be more economical?
so how do i fix the problem??
Thats not necessarily true.
Cold Air = Denser & More Volume (e.g. Oxygen).
Hot/Normal Air = Thinner & Less Volume.
The engine management system in your car will take into account the density of the air thats coming into the engine. It usually wants to keep the mixture of air and fuel at a ratio that creates complete combustion (thus more efficient, more power and also cleaner emissions).
Thus when you have a CAI, the engine management system will inject more fuel to keep this ratio and account for more oxygen coming in, giving you more power (but using more fuel).
Without a CAI, there will simply be less fuel injected to keep that same ratio.
it does if you think of it that way. but most of the time its more efficient to have cooler air channeling into the engine. less strain on engine and more flow equals less resistance which would be power lost and energy lost which would be more efficient if put to use driving the wheels.
