A fortnight ago I bought a 1995 EG VTi hatch.
Excellent condition, stock except for tinted windows and alarm/immobiliser.
80,000km
$10,900
+ stamp duty $450 + insurance compro $750 + front tyres $220
= $12500 no more to pay for a mint EG VTi hatch.
Get low kays, it's worth it! I was sniffing up a couple of $9,XXX Civics with 140k+ on them and you could feel they didn't have the life of the one I bought. The key is to just wait. The right car will pop up for the right price.

If the car had been regularly serviced whenever it needed then you shouldnt have to much of a problem..
Well the two parts that died on me aren’t really things you can service :rolleyes:Quote:

first thing buying a car is service it....or do it your self... change the oil, spark plugs etc. but if they have the log book an service not long ago thats good...so we dont have 2 waste more money an time.

I bought a silver '96 Civic Hatchback GLI ... two years ago. It had 117 *** on the odometer and they serviced the car and gave me a full 6 months rego plus the compulsory 3 months warranty from the dealer. I paid $13 500 for it, considering it had $17 500 painted on the dash. I still reckon we paid too much for the car considering a private sale would have been cheaper, my parent's didn't trust private sales and insisted I buy one from a dealer ... it was their money, so I'm not fussed. I haven't done much to the car, my Dad lowered it at one point, then took the springs out and made it stock again and I just popped a CD player in it :)
I bought a 96 ek 4 door sedan 2 years ago with 45,000km paid $20,000 i am thinking it was a bit to much now when u look at what there worth.
