the later model is identified by the black trim panels where the door handles and map lights are inside the doors, on earlier models these panels are grey.
i have seen 1994 models without airbags and 1995 models with airbags - both with the grey door trim - therefore i presume it is an option....
airbag was standard on the later model (with the black door trims). my vehcile is a later model, build date november 95, but first registered may 96. So they can have a build date of 95 but rego is normally 96....
