Is the Simota charger any good? The shop which sold me the Typhoon also had those for sale.
As mentioned above, it's probably just due to your MAF picking up funky signals and needs a reset.

i used the simota intake system for a day, the light came on after 50km so i took it off and put on the factory air box and thought about going to the dealer today and ask them why is this happening. but this morning when i turned on the engine the light is gone lol. but thanks for the info if it comes on again ill just unplug the bat. alos today i replaced the simota filter with a k&n one for 40 bucks extra, tbh i thought the simota filter gave me better response at lower ends and sounded lounder.
hmm guys i need some help, the cel came on agian and after i disconnected the negative of the battery, the light went away then came on again after roughly 10kms. i think the computer need to be adjusted to tolerate the new airflow figures or something? i cant go to the dealers coz i think they will void my warranty. do u guys know anyone can help me with that?
just get SRI with box.... thats FTW CAI sux ass
Hey Jace,
I read about a few people in the US who fitted the same SRI to their automatic civics and cut a hole out of the heat guard to allow the dipstick to be accessed. Have you thought about this or would this prevent the shield from working properly?
Does anyone know much about the Complete Cold Air Intakess that K&N offer? They allow you to convert from SRI to CAI. As it's quite dry here in summer I was thinking of getting one and converting it to CAI in summer and then to SRI in winter (when it rains), thus preventing risk of hydrolock and allowing cooler air for the summer heat when winter isn't there to cool the engine.
I actually haven't seen much info on the CCAIs on the net or forums.
Does anyone else have any advice? I wanna get one and install it right now but I'm trying to figure out whether I should leave the heat shield in tact or somehow cut a hole in it for the dipstick. My main concern is that a hole in the heat shield will make it ineffective at helping cool the engine bay air and cause damage to the effectiveness of the SRI.
y would u cut a whole in the head shield? heat shields are useful for SRI and they help u sometimes skip a potential defect if the copper cant directly see the pod he'll think nothing of it, u have an automatic civic, u have no real power as it is, and only advanatge of CAI as oppose to SRI is its SLIGHT SLIGHT power increase, i reckn no point, just get a normal SRI (which'll sound MUCH better aswell) and leave the heat shield on, no point cutting a hole which will only be effective once in a blue moon...
ok thanks Aaron, I think I'll leave it in tact then. Hopefully the heat shield won't be too hard to remove when it comes time to check the dipstick.
