Good to see you got to the bottom of it.
Did Ben put bump stops in for the time being?
I'd make a big song and dance to the mechanics about this and try to get your install money back (or at least part of it).

yeah he put in bump stops, flupping a lot better!!! :), turn hard ass tight corners no rub, BUT full lock round abouts still scrubs - so 15 inch rims wen i can find some.
man thats so bad, thats why its good to be able to do stuff on your own (if you have the time and tools) so you have that piece of mind!
If bump stops ever make your car handle better, or change how it handles normally, then you need to get serious about the safety of your suspension. Bump stops are a safety feature for your damper to avoid internal bottoming out. If you're hitting them regularly then raise your car up, it's not safe, and creates serious non linearity in suspension stiffness.
um, did u read the whole thread??!!!
obviously it was better since there were no bump stops before that!!!
I'm saying that if it DID make it better, then you were originally operating in a dangerous zone of the suspension. Now that it is better, you are obviously hitting the bump stops, which isn't a good thing!!! Get stiffer springs, more shocks travel, or raise the car up. Bump stops aren't part of the suspension formula of handling, they save your shock towers and shocks.
hmm well since the suspension was installed incorrectly in the first place without bump stops! hmm. It is only lowered 1.5 inches tho...i'll call my mechanic now!!! maybe he gave me lower than what i asked for. >__<.
not just lack of bump stops , there was major load washers that were swapped around , which would of failed within a short amount of time. This would of no doubt affected handling too ( and characteristics of bound/rebound)
ben, how much lower than stock do u think vans car is?
it doesnt look like a 1.5 inch drop to me
looks more
IMO, if evrything was setup properly, and the springs wer kings, lows, working with yellows on +40 offset 17x7, then ther shoodnt be any scrubbing
van, wats ur tyre profile? or have u mentioned that already?
i think it could be rong tyre profile or springs are too low
wheel width and offset isnt an issue IMO for a 1.5inch drop with kings lows and koni yellows set on a high enough stiffness
didnt he get pedders springs?
yeah from the pics i thought it was little lower than what i would expect from just a 1.5inch drop.
Mate i got rubbing on the inner wells of my car due to my 18in rims and my lowered height.
Its not a big deal, only at full lock.
Honestly mate I reckon your worrying a little too much, its scrubbing the inside wells, If its only on full lock just do more 3point turns, I wouldnt sell my rims because of it.
Unless you are constantly carrying alot of ppl, and having to fullllock alot, its not going to cause too many MAJOR problems.
riding on your bumpstops is not a entirely bad thing. the bump stop is made of a soft foam and by it resting on this foam it adds its rate to the springs rate there fore increasing the overall rate of your suspension. i'm riding on my bump stops have been for a few months now. its fine.
it may shorten your suspension travel which increases ride harshness and can lead to your car getting air born over ripple strips etc. it is an effective way of decreasing excessive wheel travel like in your situation.
