All good man. It is pretty cheap to get done professionally but at the same time it looks very easy so DIY might be the way to go
I've got one (both sides are the same). Pm if keen
are you in melb by any chance?
fuuuuarken spring! I spend hours cleaning my DC2, throw a car cover over it, then take it off for a few hours the next day and the car is ridden with pollen dust! nooo!!!
anyone else's integras being attacked by pollen/spring-type-dust? haha
Haha damn! I spent 3 hours claybarring mine yesterday... zomg so much win :D
^ I jelly :(
I thought this was a problem I only experienced. Washed my car last friday, looked beautiful. Stepped outside a couple of hours later and its already covered in dust. I'm still sick so washing the car isn't really a priority atm and it seriously looks like its been rolled through a sand pit, even though I washed it twice last week. Every other car I see driving around looks clean :(
haha rolled in a sandpit describes it perfectly. it's annoying as fk!
Even more annoying is the fact that my car had a soccer ball booted into it the other night. By the time I finish uni on a wednesday night there are people doing soccer training on the ovals next to the car park that most people use. They must be ****ing shit players because I was driving out of the uni, was no where near the goals but a ball smashed into the side of my car.. It scared the shit out of me. Now I have noticed the ball has marked my paint :(. One my tonsilitis ****s off I'll give it a thorough wash but I reckon the marks will still be there. I'm considering taking it up with the university.
Bring it over when you're feeling better and I'll see if I can buff the marks out for you.
But seriously, what a pile of shit heads, they were probably doing it on purpose. I would have run out there and made the guy who kicked the ball eat it.
Thanks man. Yeah I'm not sure if they were or not. Heaps of kids training, they're probably just really bad footballers. Most kids are pretty retarded. I have helped training a team of under 14's and they were a joke.. Kids these days....
lol give em a nintendo wii controler and watch em put messi on show haha
They probably don't know who Messi is because he's not on COD or Futurama.
Bro you shoulda got out of the car as soon as the ball hit your car and said "who the fcuk did that". All the ****s woulda shat themself and even if no one owned up, they wouldn't do it again.
^ amen. Kick the shit out of them :P
did you at least take their faggot ball?
i just maxxed out my front coilovers for low again, only another few mm.
i wonder how much tyre is gonna end up on my rhf guard by the time i drive 20mins to a car show and back on sunday lol
mostly freeway driving lol
If I wasn't so sick I prob would have caused a fuss but yeah. If the marks don't come off I'll just take it up with the uni.
Thinking of buying some Koni Yellow shocks from a distributor on ebay. They're height and damper adjustable. Anyone had any experience with these? My springs aren't stock, slightly lower than stock will I have to purchase a new set anyway?
How much for da koni yellows brah?
Looking at these.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Koni-...#ht_2814wt_939
Did you ask the seller how much he wanted for shipping? That's pretty expensive already, i'd just go some second hand coilovers. There was a set of koni yellows in melb for $600 but was too much cos i could get coils for that much or a tiny bit more
Thinking of switching to coils soon and ditching my front mudflaps/lip. Not feelin the 2 finger gap up front lol got a bit of star gazer spec going on atm with the lower rear
looks like they are only able to adjust stiffness, which is to be expected. my friend had those on his S15 and they were really good shocks. however your car will still sit at it's current height if you retain your current springs. my friend had his koni's paired with a set of whiteline springs and it handled nicely.
Drove it for the first time in, like, eight months.
New front H badge (one that isn't old and faded) and clear side indicators =D
put a car cover on mine to keep the fkn pollen away! :P
Im looking at putting on my mates track wheels and washing my te37. i'll see. im so so tired atm.
wanna share some of your wheels? haha :P
haha, i only got 2 other sets of wheels in my garage now, and one of them are my mates.
Installed my coilovers today. Winning :)
Omfgpicsnaow!!
what coilovers you get?
Buddyclub n+ lukey
booo.
you should lower it :D
Haha im already 3 wheeling getting up my driveway and scraped my resonator before too -_-
remove said resonator, and 3 wheeling is normal.
Topped up radiator fluids and looked on ebay for a air polisher xD
Washed, clay bar, cut, polished, and waxed my car. I used all Autoglym products including the high definition wax and I was very impressed with it, the queen is on to a good thing! Haha. Took me from 10am till about 6pm tonight to do it all but it was worth it! Car looks sweet
^Hahah good shit lol i did same thing as you but it took me 10am-8pm and did NOT turn out any better. Was the polishing done by hand?
after pics, just realized that when i took these photos i hadn't buffed the drivers side mirror lol

Yeah pretty much did not change a thing looks-wise before/after... it "felt" smoother and there was probably added protection to the paint from the wax adhered to the clean surface but just felt like i wasted my time cos i was expecting paint to look respray new lol i guess spending >$150 (and 10 hours) on it you'd expect a lot
edit: fuarkkk that's clean as man, really like ya car. anything planned for it?
by the way man, how did you avoid getting polish/wax on the black trim or anything dark coloured and badges, lights, cracks etc
Hey boys i need some opinions. Not sure if i should go coilovers and go lower. This car is daily driven, right now i'm having no troubles with the height on the roads i take. I wanna avoid having to roll guards and buying camber kits as well as staying legal height of course.
This is how it sits right now

This is my driveway, i can just get out without scraping with some angling

Lookin good Charlie! Ever had any issues with the police with amber corners?
Nah bro, never had issues with the police in general and i do drive at night a fair bit too
Fair enough, to be honest it didn't make as much of a difference as i thought it would but it definately looks heaps cleaner and glossier. +1 for the smoothness and protecting the paint, glad i only have to do that every 6 months too haha
Yeh i'll be looking at a few different mods, first major one will most likely be coilovers. But i'm waiting till i move house as my current driveway has an awkward little drop in it and i'll scrape every time i park my car at home if i lower my car. It already goes close to hitting at stock height lol i've put on some oem window visors and a spoon shift knob but thats the extent of things atm. thinking of doing a 4 point rear strut bar and a 2 point front strut bar soon
I mainly tried to apply any wax/polish to the microfibre/foam applicator i was using instead of just pouring or spraying it straight onto the body work. I did get some small spots on the black trims and in between the doors. But i just made sure once i finished that i went over and wiped all of them away or buffed them out
Well your car is pretty new anyway so would have been shiny regardless.
Let us know how long the 'smooth wax feeling' stays on. Mine only lasted like 2-3 weeks in dry weather with good surface prep. If no prep and rainy weather, the coat disappears after about a week. Too lazy to reapply cos it takes frickin ages to wash > dry > dewax > wax.
When i got overpolish/overwax the next day i went over all the trim with meguiars trim detailer to blacken them up again to get rid of the white bits, and used a toothpick to get the dried wax out of the cracks (must have pushed them in when i buffed). You did yours pretty careful though so shouldn't have to do that shit
Charlie, I think the fitment is spot on. I don't think it needs to be any lower at all, the wheels are sitting perfectly.
^ Amen. I think it looks sick as is... Get coilovers anyway for better performance?
low or not, coilovers = best mod you can buy IMO.
makes an amazing difference to the way the car feels and behaves.
Hmm... i'm undecided about selling up and getting something else at the end of this year (cl9 or dc2/r). Maybe i'll get coilovers if the shocks blow. Haven't driven or been in a car with coils so i don't really know how it feels tbh. Some say it's too stiff for daily
imo coilovers + tyres is the best mod to any car. safety first!
Remove lip and go lower maybe? Looks good though.
Wasn't done today, but I recently had a major service done on my car, tis running exactly how it should apart from a few problems that were found on the way. Problems were:
- r00ted passenger drive shaft
- custom rice muffler knocking and generally being/looking/sounding gay
- busted front and rear engine mounts
- brake pads on their way out
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbdwn:
Time to fix up all the problems
To fix the muffler problem I sourced a 2nd hand HKS HiSilent catback exhaust. Had it installed by Muffler Bro's in Footscary and TA DA, no more gay raspy exhaust!! Bigger piping means my engine breathes that iddy bitty bit better ;)
Also ordered a replacement passenger drive shaft along with:
- New Hardrace engine mount kit (all four mounts)
- Hawks HPS brake pads front and rear
And while I was at it I ordered a new Injen CAI and a hydroshield for that lil iddy biddy piece of mind.
Will be calling OTR tomorrow to book the car in to get some BC BR Coilovers installed as well. Cars currently on lowered springs with stock shocks, feels pretty homo and I want a lil bit more droppage over all.
Oh and this for the lols: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/220578417...84.m1439.l2649
Yes, I will be putting it on
Looks great Charlie! I just put in coilovers man, and I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to stock. One of if not the best mods to do!
I'll try get sone pics up, but I went 2" drop at the front and 1.5" at the rear. Back needs to go down a little more and I'll be happy.
Nice man, looking forward to pics. Did you put them in yourself? BC BR if i recall correctly from the other thread. Mind sharing how much you spent on them?
2" front sounds hella nice. If you're still on blades, go sunken battleship star-gazer look and slam the rear tuck half the wheel lol
Would anyone happen to know how much higher the type R lip sits in comparison to the mugen? Am able to get my hands on a genuine one that's already sprayed in my car colour
N+ are definitely great. can be just firm (for daily use) or quite stiff depending on how you adjust them :)
What's too stiff for the street? I think the spring rates of the ones I'm looking at are F - 10K and R - 8k. I'm not too fussed about a bumpy ride but I don't want to be overly uncomfortable since my car does a fair few km's.
N+ is 8K front and 6K rear I'm pretty sure. so 10K front will be a fair bit more solid.
I can take you for a drive in mine sometime ross, if you want to get an idea of what the ride quality will be with coilovers.
maybe when we have this canberra meet? :)
Buddyclub N+ man, paid $1300 new for them which I'm pretty sure is not too bad a price. Yeah 2" drop at the front is perfect with the blades. The rear actually looks good where it's at now, but yeah wouldn't mind going another half inch lower.
Thanks Moiz :) Yeah the N+ are amazing man, straight out of the box. I've hardly played around with the preload and stuff and they already feel so good. Ride is pretty damn firm now, I'm using damper settings 10 clicks towards stiffest (out of 15 clicks) so there is entry more stiffness to come if I want. But it's already firm as, my cd player is skipping over the smallest bumps haha.
^^ Do it man, you WILL NOT regret coilovers.
You'll need some good tyres though, I've found that my cornering ability is far superior than the grip levels my current tyres will allow :) Federal RSR here I come hehe
Anyone had experience with Omni? I've tried doing some research but pretty much everything seems outdated. Most people seem to say they're pretty comfy though, as opposed to when I did research on Skunk2 Pro S everyone complained that they were too stiff.
New tyres? I love my adrenalines though lol.
My mate has Skunk2 Pro-S's on his DC2. They're not bad, height adjustable etc although you can't adjust the damper settings. They feel nice though, pretty firm. But if I had the choice between the Pro-S and Pro-C's, I'd take Pro-C's.
Yeah Pro C's are quite pricey though. I'm on a pretty tight budget. :(
