I don't think you understand the extent of this - it was not a few PQ points that were "iffy". This was a group of members who went from low PQ points to over 1000 points in a few days/week by repping bs posts of each other. If they wanted respect and fairness they wouldn't abuse the system. Putting them back to zero points and requiring them to earn 1 point to sell is getting off lightly.

As above. IMO case closed and dont do it again abusers !

Ppl used to actually get banned for abusing the PQ points by accumulating infarctions, even if they were old members. In this incident, just removing the points and going back to newcomer status is pretty lenient. Since they have already been a member for so long, all they need is 1 PQ point and don't have to serve the waiting period.

It's either you retain your member status or get a temporary ban. As said.....you should be glad that after all you and the others have done you're still able to post. You don't have any idea as to how much of our time and effort you wasted by your little games. PQ system sucks donkey nads. Its all a popularity competition and should be scrapped. I know for a fact even mods compete and ask for rep points.

As far as I know, the points were removed from the guys who abused it. But the points given out by them were not removed as that would take ages to go through. In order to fix the mess, only the admin could do it. All mods do not have the access to removing points.

well, i agree with dc2X3 the PQ system is a waste of time.. but still, like taking them guys all back to 0 points is also VERY harsh... a punishment that harsh for sumthing that useless is the over-reaction. coz like wat if they had made sum geniuenly good posts? u get rid of those 2? just coz they wanted to have sum fun? This system isnt supposed to make everyone happy - so if its not making you happy, just deal with it cause the system is staying.
If anyone abuses it, they will be moderated.

Just understand that its a way to help us mods control the forums better - ie. to stop ppl signing up and spamming just to sell on the forums.

Good to see some intelligent debate about a few of the issues.

Personally, I feel that if the value of your existence is however many green dots you get on a forum board for making informative points - then you may need to reassess where you are heading with your life.

And if you find rorting a system based on honesty a joke (i.e. har har its so funny I am able to rort 500+ points in a month) whatever., I feel you should be banned.

I'm not THE perfect contributor to this forum, but I do not spread bullshit information and I do not do it in a sugar coated way.

But the points I do have from others, on the whole, have been for genuine reasons.

I believe we do not go far enough to penalize those who make no contribution to this site whatsoever except for piss and moan and pass out negative vibes.

I agree with yourfather. The PQ point system is just an indicator and does not represent intelligence. And just because it is based on "honesty" is not a licence to rort the system. Members are either on the bus with the system we have or they are not. If you are not - please don't ruin it for everyone.

It is a shame that Ozhonda used to be more of a community that knew how to have fun but treated each other well. Now we have a growing group of members who spam spam spam, are immature, bitch, attack other users, come here just to sell, or have no general interest in helping others whatsoever. I look at some US Honda forums with many more members than us but they don't have the same issues to the extent I see here. We need a much more positive and helpful vibe! Only the members who care about the site can make that happen. :thumbsup:

Then can you please come up with a better way for us to address the issues that the PQ points system addresses? If you don't know what these issues are then I don't know how you can say it sucks(?).

You can use the system as long as its for tech posts. You can only give so many points to 1 user over a 24 hour period. Even then you have to rep other before you can rep the same person again.

We want to make this a better place.....so we're open to feedback (not just complaining with no positive input).

Ozhonda mods are great. i love them long time. +pq this way :D

Superannuation funds deteriorate from fees if the interest gained cannot outweigh it...

so say maybe a deterioration system for PQ points if it is not maintained by contributing to the community.. BUT.. the higher the PQ already there the slower it deteriorates or not at all due to obvious proof and appreciation of contributions...

duno just a thought.. maybe a stupid idea.. haven't really thought it out properly or the consequences

some members have even given me good advice via PM about a product that i would love to rep... and giving the advice via that method was good reason too considering topic is debatable and possible 'fanboi's' or eprsons defending a purchase would have just argued and made the thread useless

Ozhonda doesnt want its focus to be for members to sell their parts.
Sure it may have the audience and the traffic every single day to make this one of the best sites to place ur items up on, but its not within the site's goals to be a marketplace.
