Youve also got to factor in that they are cutting into your bumper... so, should they screw this up youll be getting a nice new bumper, if you screw it up.......
What if I purchase from honda and they screwed up when they install the sensor? whose gonna pay for the new bumper?
They would. you probably wouldn't even know about it! :)
True, there is a big difference in both price and quality between a cheap unit and a good unit. But then there's also a big price difference between a good unit and what Honda (and other manufacturers) charges with an unnoticeable difference in quality. Eh, maybe its just me but $650 for a reverse sensor unit just seems ludicrous. Especially when you can get a good reverse camera setup for that price.Quote:

i have to admit as well now after 7,000km+ on the clock the suspension could be a hell of alot better. It's kinda of half arse and is annoying at times. Not to say that it doesn't do the job it just doesn't feel as good as I know it should.
i agree. in mine, the suspension is awesomely good on most roads but on occasional sections of bad roads it just decides to give up and becomes jarringly uncomfortable. i think the car would benefit more from softer springs/shocks (to absorb the sharp road joins) and stiffer swaybars (to reduce the body roll) - but that's just my hypothetical guess and i don't know if it'd work :)Quote:

Dealer are charging me $700 for the parking sensor and exhaust finisher (for Vti-L).
Parking sensors / tinting thrown in for free but I talked to the after sales lady and she said that you should be able to get about half listed price. Which I may add is what you would pay for them aftermarket.
I paid $300 for the paint protection (not the interior) only. The full body kit (rear underspoiler + front underspoiler, side skirts, rear boot spoiler) was almost $2500.
i got mine with
6 way full proctection (2 for exterior, 2 interior, under car rubber filling, and another i cant remember)
Street legal tint
accent lights
rear spoiler
mats
auto civic sport in purple
for $36,800.
is that a good price?
im not sure but i feel like igot a decent price
seems like a pretty decent price yeah, well done! i paid 195 more than you and got 1 less exterior and 1 less interior protection, no accent lights and no rear spoiler.. but i got reversing sensors :) i'd say ur deal beat mine by 500-1000
friend of mine just put an order for a vti auto, $25700 driveaway. but he was told delivery would be mid august at best...about 3 mths wait.
can i ask y is everyone who busy the 06 civic buying AUTOs????!?!?
why waste your money
just to keep everyone in the know. if your after a new civic in syd or know someone who is. send them to me il give them the best deals!!!!
we sold a auto civic vti today for $24,900 with mats. uh was a one off and lasted all of an hour on the floor.
that's exactly the question i asked of people when i was shopping for my previous car. so my previous car was a manual which was cool, i loved the direct control and stuff but manual can be a bit tiresome after a hard 10hr+ day at work when you just want to get home and sleep. auto is just easier to use in all situations :)Quote:

Auto is the future. Ten years from now I'd be very surprised if any manufacturers are still offering a manual transmission. In the meantime, well, I think buyers of the Sport were attracted to the paddle shift. If the Sport only had an auto like the lower specs then the ones who bought auto probably would've got manual.Quote:

lol, well maybe because people can't drive manual? don't have to bother with changing gears? people don't want to be changing gears in heavy traffic?
Maybe they bought the AUTO for other family members as well?
And yes i believe auto is the future as well, esp DSG gear box.
Hmm I got quoted $34k on road in Perth for sports manual
it could be cheaper. $1k more, u can get an autoQuote:

yeehou.. have you got your car yet? I ordered mine from the same dealer as yours, and yesterday they just called me.. should be by next weekend.. as the ship just docked by yesterday..
but anyway.. can't rely on 'em.. that dealer is just full of crap!!! Will never ever go with them again in the future.. 2 months delayed (hopefully) from the initial date? Oh dear.. what a "promise"..
finally got mine last wednesday.. all good for the car.. except for rattling noise from the driver door
o_O You might wanna give 'em a call to ask them abt that! Probably not a good sign to have a rattle right after delivery.
Hey guys are we ready for a meet yet?
hehhehehe.
Let me know when we're ready for a sydney meet.
Haha yeh fill me in too! I'd be most interested in meeting other Honda (and Civic06!) owners and asking their opinion/advice on stuff~
hey guys..finally recieved my civic VTi on Friday...
its a nice car 2 cruise arnd in...
now all i need is some rims, suspension and hid..hahah to start with..haha..
i was wondering on a few things:
1.) the headlights seem to have a blue section which would seem like a park light..but there are no lightglobes in there..as it seems we have another park light..but i was wondering if anyone knows if we can add some globes in that section?
2.) i read on another forum that we can actually choose a greeting for our stereo..anyone know how 2 do this?...
3.) anyone found anything interesting in the civic..this is a bit of a rip from the accord euro section where they list all the interesting bits in the euro...bt yeah,..anyone found anything interesting...
4.) if anyone knows of any Euro Sport rims for sale..plz let me know....
thanks guys..and i've already seen a handful of black VTi's cruising arnd perth..hahah hollaaa..
Headlights as in the things at the front of the car?... Not quite sure what exactly you're talking about >< Mine only look blue because I put blue bulbs inside.Quote:

Same here, ordered in early of june, can't even get a delivery date from dealer till now......
I ordered my Civic Sport on Saturday. The dealer told me that expected arrival time would be late September, he rang me today and advised that it's now expected in Mid to late August. So instead of waiting 3 months, it's now only 2!
yer i konow that
delivery times for hondas are always like that......hope we get our cars soon!
I don't mind waiting, but my dealer even couldn't give me the expected delivery time, and never rang me regarding this.
so what did ur dealers say and what did u guys do? keep chasing up the dealer or just wait for them to call u?

any lawyers or legal experts in here? reason being i need advise on my rights to terminate a sales contract with the dealer. the story is, i put down a deposit for my civic almost 3 months ago. dealer still cant tell me exactly when my car will arrive (for the colour i want). his best estimate is at least another 3-4 weeks. i noticed on the contract that it says the buyer may terminate contract if the car takes more than 3 months to arrive (next week will be exactly 3 months).
i understand that this car has a long waiting list and the stocks are limited, but 4 months is just too long. furthermore i've sold my old car already, and now im stuck without a vehicle. dealer does not give loan vehicles. if possible, i'd prefer to cancel the contract with my deposit refunded, then buy another car with immediate delivery. can i do this without incurring any penalties?
i'm not a expert....but i think you can terminate if the dealer exceeds the expected delivery time by more than 3 mthsQuote:

the termination period should be 3 months from that date but not when u signed your contract.....i think....hope it helps...but anyway...u can always negotiate with the dealer.....i am sure u can work sth out with them
its really a long time....4 mths.....
i bought my car in early june and will be getting my car delivered to me this thursday.....cant wait to get it...hope u can get yours soon
woo.. that is fast...are you from Sydney or Melbourne?Quote:

does anyone know if dealers usually deliver the car by driving the car or towing the car?
no delivery date specified in the contract. so does that mean the valid termination period will count from the day i signed the contract?Quote:

My contract states if the dealer does not deliver the car after 1 month of expected delivery, you may rescind the contract.
Must be the difficulty in obtaining the colour.
oh..i hope you have stated the expected delivery date....its gonna be complicated if you didnt..
I would recommend you call the consumer complaints tribunal (or equivilent) in your state. Look up Department of Fair Trading or something along those lines to ask for advice on this.
i dunno its hard to say coz for some cars there is a waiting period of mroe than 3 mths....etc the golf gti had 6 mths wait and people knew that when they bought the car....therefore if they dun write the expected del date its hard to say what the expected del date is but anyway you can always negotiate with the dealer......Quote:

Once the vehicle arrives, you're in a tough situation. If you need to cancel, do it now. You're entited to a full refund of your deposit.
Of course, you could always renegotiate for another car. They won't have trouble selling the Civic you don't want anymore so can't use it as leverge.
Your dealer is the first point of call. If they object, tell them it's written black and white on the contract and you're coming in person today to sort it out.
i ordered my civic early june and i still haven't recieved an email nor a call from the dealer and the expect delivery date is this month. Just to clarify things you can cancel your contract 3 months after you signed the agreement with them is this correct? and do you also get your deposit back?Quote:

I'm guessing your girl is lucky- the stock is in, and the colour she wanted was available. A lot of people have been waiting months for theirs to arrive. I no longer feel special having one of the few Civics on the road from the first shipment.
Thanks. yea there's no delivery date specified on my contract, not even "ASAP"...so sounds like i'll have the right to terminate my contract now and get a full refund. few more days and i'll be exactly 3 months from the time i signed it, so i'll give the dealer a call again today to check when my car is arriving....Quote:

just got my car yesterday......pretty good to drive....but not as quiet as expected
Hey Guys
Been looking at this forum for quite a while but registrations were closed previously and I have been on holidays.
Ok here is the deal:
civic 2006
vti auto
silver moss metallic
genuine floor mats F%R
Fog lights
rear boot spoiler
front spoiler
rear spoiler
side skirts
drive away
28400
my 3 months from date of signing expires on the 26th this month (July)
I have been told I will have to wait till September that nearly 5 months.
Should I terminate and renegotiate a deal later since the delivery of the car is not that too far away from 2007? Then effectively purchasing a 2007 not a late 2006.
I looked at the vtil and didnt see much value for the extra dollars. Considering the 6 dics cd wasnt important to me; the alloys really suck! airbags maybe; audio controlls on steering wheel??? (would they interface with aftermarket deck as I looking to upgrade the sound system)
This forum is great I have read much.
$28400? Well, my mate got his Civic auto VTi for $25300 driveaway; so that means you paid about $3100 for the Fog lamps, Body Kit + Spoiler, and Genuine Floor Mats. I know the body kit with spoiler is around $2500ish (can't remember exact figure) from when I was ordering, not sure about Fog Lamps, and the floor mats are around $200 from memory? In summing up, I don't think you got any major discounts, so if you feel that you can save money by cancelling and renegotiate go for it- will you have to forfeit any deposits, etc...?
Btw I agree- in hindsight, the benefits of the VTi-L aren't really worth the dollars; especially when if I had gotten VTi, I could've used the change to change the wheels- but then, I really do appreciate having a 6 stack MP3/WMA drive and have no intentions of changing the deck- and I like the steering wheel's audio controls. On a sidenote, I believe there are products out there which will let you use the controls with an aftermarket HU.
*shrugs*
If I were you I'd just stick to the deal because the car is still pretty popular- renegotiating may leave you carless unless you have another car in mind?
