another thing leo, how come my tanabe makes Springy noises up front when i turn?
i think it is spring movement. i have some noise in my coilover too in the past. i used to have tein and cusco.. but it is the sound of valves compressing etc... sounds like spring but its not spring.
but make sure you installed everything correctly and sometimes just require greasing... i might also not be spring but something else
definitely get it checked out by a mechanic tim
i had my tanabes done by a qualified mechanic.. and i had a clickin noise when i turned the wheel for the first week after install.. after that, rides quiet and smooth ever since
i got my mechanic to check it and he pullled it out and re-install twice and find nothing,he did mention that the spring was moving, i'm going to see on tuesday if it does that when the wheel is off,
John, can u ask ur mechanic if he knows anything about this?
leo,
can u ask dedy?
thanks
hey tim, may i ask if the noise comes from the side where the shaft came out?
i get the same spring type noises when i turn as well. but only on the left side... it also happens to be the side where the drive shaft thingo came out.. im not sure if its related or not. one of my friends told me that it is just noises from the spring moving.. he has the same noise on his s15.
im having the car checked next week. hopefully i'll find the source of the problem and possibly fix it.
ej20i, i think what leo is getting at, is was it installed at your house the first time by yourself, with the help of a mechanic here and there..
and when i installed my n+ for the first time i noticed a pssshhh noise over the bumps but mine was the shock releasing air or something..
the mechanic, all i did was take the top cowl of and hold the coils when he takes it out and help him jack up the car and take the wheel off
it was first at home coz we had to do it after work and workshop was closed,
well technically yes i paid but not really since he does all my work for free from servicing my car, to getting new tyres (just pay for stock and not labour in balancing and stuff). coz i do his car and work mates car for free (audio)

gah!
wont have rims by then.
p.s. what size is our lugnut thread?
M12×1.5
man why tuesday.......
no money and he is the owner of the garage
to be honest i dont know why he want to do that (installing at home) and later fix it at his workshop (makes no sense to me as it is always easier to install sussy in a hoist and especially if he doesnt get paid, i am sure working in a hoist is faster than working using a jack! which saves more time... plus if he owns a workshop... he can open till whatever time he wants basically.. dedy at top one open late to do favor for his friends but always done all work at his workshops)
if i were your mechanic i will
- do it in my workshop where i have all the tools and proper lighting (especially is dark at night even though you use lighting but it is still dark)
- i cover myself as a mechanic as if something happen when i fix someone else car by public liability insurance cover. i dont know any mechanic is covered by doing other than premise that he supposed doing the job
- involving someone that is not a mechanic like yourself. and if something happen, he will probably just put the blame on you.
your problem could be
- maybe the tension spring might be the problem if you hear a "ding" sound
- maybe not enough grease on the bearing if you hear the clicking sound.
maybe you should ask dedy at top one to have a look at it. but that is what roughly what he said. dont quote me on that, i am just roughly summing up what could be the problem. best to speak to him being the real mechanic as i am not a mechanic either..
i want a garage =,=
yea im going to lube the spring and see how that goes, the car stayed at the hoist all day yesterday
and lucky me, dad gave his keys to me
LOL!
hehehehehehhe

does anyone know if the JDM FD2 muffler design is the same like JDM DC5?
as in, it has valving design?
http://www.itr-dc5.com/images/exhaust.jpg
Variable path Exhaust pipes
The Type-R equips a new exhaust muffler that is constructed of variable pipes. The design can change silence priority by leading exhaust gas flow to variable paths with a silencer. At a low rpm region, silence priority becomes first. Sound is reduced and air current is reduced at the same time. As engine speed reaches near the 5,000 rpm, higher exhaust gas output becomes the priority that desires less back pressure. This design bumps up an extra 4 hp and 0.8 kg-m, than the predecessor model. Comparing at 8,000 rpm, about 1/3 of backpressure remains, therefore a large improvement
in the power output was achieved at the dual e-type exhaust pipe. Moreover, sport nature was emphasized by the adoption of a larger diameter finish.
Pretty sure their CR Kais?
wat size are they? 18"? look real nice on the FD! im lookin at sum CR Kai too, but only hav enough $$ to buy replicas atm... anyone know where i can get'em cheap?

anyone has a spare rear mudflaps??
hey wondering, do you guys by default before this change have the bass and treble turned to 6 anyway? i currently have them both up and the speakers seem to be pretty good, no distorting and quite crisp and bassy. I also thought there was a DSP mode when you flick through the standard settigns, but maybe something else.
gonna try this tonight and see if i notice a difference. might turn everything to 0 at first
hey stig, how much u sellin CR kai for? wat colour and wat size?
also im lookin at replacing interior map and dome lights to white LED, which model should i be lookin at? cheers guys
the stadard system is pretty crap but i wasnt expecting muchanyway.
i might try this street fighter cheat sheet civic stereo thing you speak of fitme. hmm..
the stereo cheat works!! just did it then..
all you guys who have after market sound system, i am willing to buy your oem speakers off you :) not at a stupid price of course
What's wrong with your oem speakers?
nothing is wrong with them, i gotta destroy my set so i can get the frame to mount the aftermarket ones. i also want a oem set just incase :)
thanks Stig, the rims ar awesome! i will buy em if they are bronze... im sorry... GL with the sale!
atjo - more pics of your avatar?
You can create a spacer from mdf for the mount. I always use that. Ask adhika (ABANG) how to create them. I actually still have my spacer from my alpine speakers, maybe it can fit in FD1.

ehhh....i wish i had the money to buy cr kai...
any1 knows anywhere sells cheap replicas???
lenso/tenzo dc-5 v1 look like pretty decent replicas... but im not sure if shops sell version 1 anymore. i keep seeing the v2. difference is that v2 has polished lip and polished centre. doesnt look as good imo. but im pretty sure there are others.... rota do good replicas. you can as H3 motorsport in the trader section to see if they can get you a set.
does the 2.0 FD Civic fitted with this?
