try carrying a passenger or 2 in the back. see how scrubbing goes then lol
then also try them when lowered :p
any clearance between brakes is good enough imo. some people need to sand down their calipers or sometimes the inside of the rim.

noticably low
i think ive got like 0.5mm of brake clearance w/ dc5r rims
yeahh dont think im gonna be going that low, hahas. anyway thanks curtis!!
don't think so, if u swap with SAME spec with stock rims. but what a point ?
not the wiring, but the connector only. and it's not esp. design for the button. it's comp. connector.
can't 100% avoid this matter. sometimes i just hit the road hole, and ... scratchhhhhhhh:(
repaired ? need to repaint after machined.
i used TP 140 x 45 - 5 m, and that's good enough.
if u have spare $$$, get 190 x 45. much better. but 140 should be ok.
they're covered in AS 1324.1 and 1324.8
but if the rafter more than 5m, u have to use 190x45. otherwise will bow after u put the roof on. and not covered by AS (australian standard)
cheers
Bet no one knows where I took this pic at... :)

nice location howy, but i think its time for u to de-badge your vti
LOL!
haha, yeah been lazy :)
I'll take it off soon and i'll also put back my exhaust.
i believe its st Mary cathedral in city
looks like u have no exhaust!
Gabe's right... it's usyd :)
Just outside the main quad opposite the tennis courts & fisher library.
curtis: hehe yeah, i've got the stock one back on. But after my roadtrip, you'll probably notice a massive titanium cannon.
haha WIN!
ryan, show us what you just got done!!!
I went with a friend to Burswood Honda today and got a quote on foglights (was buyin touchup paint)
Quoted $600 for foggies, i lol'd
Quoted $260 for a type-R grille badge for an FN2R
Lol went wif me!
hell yeh. use work car lol
curtis how much is the touchup paint?
$21.50... but i swear u can get it cheaper.
It was for a 15 mL bottle with a brush (sorta like a whiteout)
ahhh ok do you just get it from the service centre? lol my first service there is tomrrow and i dont know what to do! hahahahah just park it inside the garage?
well at hornsby u have to drive it up the driveway and park it, then go inside to give in the keys and get paper works started n all that shit (tell them ur there for ur service lol). but it could be different at other branches, but yeah... just follow the other honda cars around haha
btw - got my car lowered yesterday on tanabe coils =]. pics shud be up today if i can find my camera.
waited around 7 hours to get it done lolol. thanks tim for letting me bum around at ur shop!!!! life saver hahaha. =]
Black8thgen, u got it done at a mechanic? 7 hrs is ages man, I once read somewhere that it took them 7 hrs for a DIY coily install..
dny, you just go to the spare parts desk and ask them for it..
can you watch your car during the service?? cause i wanna see personally if they really done something to the car..like changing oil filter and oil...Quote:

I know at the Burswood one here in Perth, the waiting area has a big window which you can look out and see the mechanics working on the cars
 to all FD owners!
i noticed that this this thread was started a couple of years ago,..
just wondering if it would be accepted to start a new,
'09/10 fd civic talk' thread?
hmm ok..cause im going to pay around $300+ for the first change oil, and ive read somewhere that someone had a changed oil but didnt replaced the filter...Quote:
not afaik. unless u go to BK or something (i.e. private garage services) rather than a dealer.
DIY will cost you less $100 ..dealer price $%^cks
uhm nah u cant watch the service be done, u can from afar, and hope ur car is in one of the bays close to the reception desk lolol - but yeah u wont be able to see much lol. just trust em and maybe check stuff urself afterwards if ur concerned.
@ curtis: yeah, it wasnt just installing coils though, also adjusting to the height i wanted and a wheel alignment (however they did that before lowering, so i need another wheel alignment now.. but too low to get up the ramp =.= - anyone kno where i can get it done at a place with low ramps?)
heres some pics: rear is a bit too low though - stupid sub is too heavy.

the height looks perfect man, don't raise the rear!
Have fun with speed bumps :)
Wow... that looks hottt... nice work!
damn man.. wish my car was low like that =(
nice drop man....
can someone photochop it to white car...:)
looks dope!!!! now take that wing off!! lol :)
I personally prefer no wing but the FDs look good with a wing
Blue coated bulbs. Blue color from the bulbs gets picked up by the reflectors, and you end up seeing blue like that.
I want yellows :) (but that's fkin expensive)
simple enough. thought it would involve cracking open the headlights and tinting that part blue, which i guess would look better, but that would just be a pain to do.
nah its just a blue tinted bulb lol (my high beams)
eBay has a set for 100, which includes switches cables and fuses as necessary. That's why i lol'd. If u really wanted, u can alwyas pay an auto-electrician to do it for u..
they upgraded the vtil rims for 2010 model..design is the same as the the 2.0 09' but in 16" size..lol...i never liked the 09 sports rim.....stil the 07-08 17" rims is the sexiest FD rim
Jonathan, gimmie a pic. :)
hey guys, im looking for mugen visors, kit and front grille located in brisbane pm me if you got.
there are a couple of traders here on ozhonda that have those for pretty cheap. although they are replicas tho and not the genuine thing. still look just as good tho :p
also, ebay stocks those items as well.
drive without p plates on (Y) LOL. way more aesthetically pleasing without p plates.
true.. but getting caught will be a big bitch =[. hahaha.
but think about all the hassles and unwanted attention you get as a p plater.. i hated it after the first week so i drove without the p's on and no more hassles by anyone.. not even the cops. i might have been lucky tho.
wow really. yeah maybe... i reckon if cops looked in and saw me driving it with no p plates id be screwed, especially around my area. but then again i have never ever been pulled over.. i just got my greens today so been on reds for a year and no troubles whatsoeverrr =]
got my fulls last month then my license suspended LOL
LOL. snap.. ahaha.
u guys see the new OzHonda calender? must be a 1st to feature our FD cars on this site
do ur Ps have to go on the outside? I put mine in the windows.
supposed to go on the outside ;)
what a shitty rule.
My bro just got booked for not having ps on. 240. Or something. Yup. That's my car on the calender. With rene and others.
^ lost mod status
ouch 240$ for no p's... its $90 in canebrra lOL
I took off my VTi-L badge. tried rubbing off the gluey shit with meth spirits, rubbed so hard that i've got fkin swirls everywhere...
Anyway,
Filled in the missing chunk with touch up paint using a knife edge to put the paint in. My main concern was overfilling the hole so that it goes over.. I want the paint to be 'flush' with the clearcoat...
Pic:

Here's another thing i tried to touch up at the front.
http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p...s/IMG_4873.jpg
The chip is still there, and i've only put a minimalist amout of TU paint in.. Might just leave it as is, or do more later, i donno.
Fark, that touchup paint dries fast.
obtw tim, congratulations on getting ur photo on the wallpaper :)
i saw this month's wallpaper as well. nice work, tim!
i just watched this video this morning. thought you might be interested,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3BP4eQe0uc
badluck with the swirls. i read a diy on 8th gen civics. they used dental floss and a hair dryer. im takin off my vti badge soon, ill tell you how it goes :P. btw im new to the forum, so far just tinted windows and full type s system, sub and amp.
w00t. more new members from brissy! welcome jon22. look forward to seeing ur fd around brisbane
i think its ok overfilling it...then wait till the paint really dries up....then sand it with 2000grit sandpaper..and apply some scratch removerQuote:
My main concern was overfilling the hole so that it goes over
nice work tim!!!
yeah $90 and no demerits here haha
