It could help slightly, but they are more qualified to do mechanical inspections - (No Reliable Mechanics Available or National Ratbags & Mugs Association - take your choice).
If your unsure what to look for I would be more inclined to seek the services of an experienced Spray Painter.
Irving, I don't think anything has changed with the way dealerships operate since I served my apprenticeship last century. The people working within dealerships treat every car the same, be it a clapped out 2nd hand piece of crap to a new Mercedes. Many minor dings happen within dealerships as well as during transport.
People may ask where I gained the little knowledge I have, well I served my apprenticeship at a VW/Mercedes Dealership, before moving up to service manager & then 2IC to the National Service manager of a German Model. Maybe I was to young in those days to appreciate working in a white collar & I missed the hands on experience & knowledge, so I went back into overalls & did several post trade courses.
Lets get back to the CU2, many people don't realise how much car they are getting for their money these days. Why do I say that you may ask, well I purchased a new VTI manual accord in 1994, the on road cost was $43,990, now we can by a CU2 Auto, which is 10 times better for around $40k on the road. Whatever Happened to inflation & Accords I don't know, the Euro is a great car, but there is an old saying that stands true today & is applicable to any motor vehicle purchase, BUYER BEWARE.
There is no such thing as a perfect car, whether you spend 20K or 500K. I will add that I do not believe the CU2 has any opposition in it's price range.
I think this is a very fair comment. After prematurely ordering ours earlier this year I've had all that time to look for something else which is roughly $42K drive away with the standard options in the CU2 and nothing even comes close.Quote:

This ping issue has made me quite disappointed with Honda, but dam that product finish and drive is so dam good. Mazda's drive is slightly better but their interiors are not up to benchmark.
hi guys- just found the forum after searching this pinging issue. with regards to the fix for the pinging has this been rolled out across all dealerships? reason i ask is i reckon my mrs is being given a bum steer by our local dealership.
i keep telling her to contact the dealer to get this shit sorted and they keep telling her nothing is ready yet, they have her details and they'll contact her once something is sorted blah blah!
seems the (sorta) fix has been out for some time now, and she's/we've not been told. :(
Your mrs should contact the dealership again. Honda JP shipped in the parts for the local dealers here to replace all faulty cars. I got mines fixed a month ago..Quote:

Thats nice to hear your pinging issue has been fully resolved. I think as someone mentioned here in this forum, dealers needs to apply the fix in order to resolve the issue, may be skip the order may still leave the pinging issue still there.
I am looking to purchase Jan-Feb time Euro and hope the issue is fully resolved from factory

If it is indeed the order in which the fix is applied, maybe the mechanics from the dealership you went to should be the ones going around Australia showing the other clowns (who call themselves mechanics) how to follow instructions step-by-step to apply the fix!? :p
In this day and age of walkmans/ipods/loud music it is known that there are many people in the younger generations that are exhibiting early signs of hearing loss, and effectively have the hearing capability of middle aged persons. Age is not necessarily a factor.Quote:
