last week when i went on a roadtrip i got 580km before i filled up. but on a reg. basis meaning half hwy. half city i get roughly 450-500km max.
i think this is in my case too, im getting less kms from premium than on regular. im just gonna stick to regular mobil i told a friend and he said he gets more kms from regular (mobil especially) than on premium and he drives a falcon.Quote:

I normally fill up around the 450km mark (EG GLi) with a fair bit still in the tank. I haven't gotten it to the point of the fuel light coming on yet so I'd be interested to know how far it will go before it actually runs out.
I've been getting 400km or so out of a tank with regular 3000rpm driving and the occasional traffic light GP. cars turbo'd as well so i reckon thats quite good. Haven't taken a long highway drive yet so they are city figures.
However my fuel guage jumps around a bit so one of these days i'm just going to get a full tank, and a 5l jerry can of fuel and drive till it completely runs out. If i can get 450km regular driving i will be very happy
lol good way to test out.Quote:

otherwise you might need an extra 5ltr, :p
i was wondering....would a cars ecu have to "learn" a different brand of fuel ? eg. knock sensor when using too low a ron rating ? ie everytime you use a different brand of fuel.
would mixing different fuel types alter the properties of these fuels ? eg. some get more kms with mobil, some more with BP etc. what if you had 50/50 of each.
This last week i managed 323km out of 33.4L =10.3L/100km
i find my car runs best with Mobil 8000>BP Ultimate>Shell Optimax>Caltex Vortex although some instances earlier this year, ultimate made more kms than 8000.
I'm currently getting about 11L/100km. Off topic, I just filled up with Ultimate @ $1.39
F#$@ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
nar, it just burns it the same i think. The advantage of higher RON is it burns at lower temperature so the engine runs cooler and more efficently. which results in less fuel needed to be burnt.Quote:

i normally get abt 500 - 530 every 40L of 98 octane fuel
with 1st and 2nd seeing redline quite often
i used to get about 500kms with the civic when i used to drive it.. mum gets around 550 now, she babies the car more than i did lol
