remember, theres always some die hard fan that will buy it, like myself
call me a fool if you want
I had mine for sale for 6 months waiting for that die hard and the best offer i got was 19, i know the k's are not below average, but it was one of two yellows for sale in the country for most of that time.
Anyway, had a change of heart (finances) so she's mine for good now :)
Hey Bludger, are you the other yellow one i see round Nunawading/Blackburn area sometimes??
Red..
You're also only looking at it very one sided XPO2ED.
As Bludger said earlier "A car is only worth as much as someone is prepared to pay".
I don't think Bludger and I actually said that DC2R's are worth more than DC5R's (correct me if I'm wrong). All we mentioned was the $23k~ range for a good low KM DC2R.
there's no point arguing with n00bs, they just bring you down to their level and own you with experience...
dc2r is not worth more than a dc5r unless under circumstances where someone is willing to pay more for it. then again i've never seen a GOOD condition dc5r being let go for anywhere near 25k.
but on a mileage basis, dc2r retains value much better than dc5r - evidenced by the selling prices which are still high today. this is the truth. dc5r fanboys please accept it. and it retains a higher value if it's stock because a LOT of dc2r's are modified.
but if people decide to buy a dc2r for 30k over a dc5r for 30k stock for stock then they obviously thought it was a better car. simple as that. the differences between the two are not exactly subtle anyway.
how do uno that a dc2R retains more value than a dc5R? by carsales prices?
Regards to DC5R sell price.. ive seen several sell for 25k.. stock that is with say 100ks on the clock? or near? u saying a dc2R with 100ks or near on the clock will sell for 25k?
its all debatable till the cows come home, but there must be a buyer:)
nope, thats what you said.
most dc5rs in good nick (ie less than 80000kms) sell for at least 30k. isnt that a fact?
25k can get you a GOOD dc2r with lower mileage and probably better condition than the dc5r. someone who would buy a dc2r with 100000k's on the clock for 25k must be a pretty die hard fan, but i know someone who's sold a dc2r with that mileage for that price.
that the dc2r is already close to 10 years old, brand new for about 42k and still selling easily for 23-25k in good condition and low km's, isnt that enough proof that it retains value well?
you can never get a good indicator of what cars are worth. redbook is total bull. if you want a indicator, you check what other people are selling it for and you check if it sells because you know it would have been sold for around that advertised mark anyway.
don't get so defensive, dc5r fanboys. if it can still sell for 25k in good condition in 2010/2011, then it's retained its value well too :) but who knows, by then the dc2r might be 22k or something. its impossible to predict the future. at the least everyone should accept that yes - dc2r has aged well and will continue to.
