FD/FN2/EP3 Wheel Setup Guide

Tyre sizes sound fine.

Depending on which wheels you run at the rear, you may/may not have enough inner clearence to the rear trailing arm. (I'm not 100% at stock height)

Fully lowered, I've previously run a 16x8.5 +37, which was undriveable as it rubbed against the trailing arm. With a 5mm or 3mm (can't remember which one off the top of my head) slip on spacer is just cleared but scrubbed under very hard cornering.

Previous to that I ran 16x8 +38 in the rear, which just scrubbed against the trailing arm under heavy cornering. Wasn't even enough that I noticed it on the day.

Found another wheel/tyre fitment calculator, this one also allows you to enter your camber settings and it gives you a diagram of it too!

Would 17 x 7 +24 on ep3 fit. Car is lowered with no gap. Currently have guards rolled and have 17 x 8 +35 and they fit no issues but concerned 17x7 +24 is too aggressive..

To answer your question, I don't think you'll have any problems as your inner clearance is better, but your outer clearance is decreased a tiny bit. (disregard tyre size, I just typed in numbers at random)

So I got the wheels 17 x 7 +24 and fitted them on the car. Word of advice, this is too aggressive if you are lowered. Had to raise my rears about and inch so there is gap between guard and tyre.. If you want your tyres with no gap sitting under guard then best to stick to around +35 offset.

No camber?

wat? 7"+24 sticks out the same amount as 8"+35

I think they're actually scrubbing on rear bumper part

+24 offset is fine. You just need smaller tyres.
get 215/40 next

225/45 on a 7" is too chunky

I'm on 215 not 225.... And going from 45 to 40 will just increase gap between guard and tyre which I don't want..

Sounds like you need to add some camber

I was looking at the picture of the wheel specs and didnt realize it wasnt yours.
But i agree with lolmclol, You will need some camber.

But going from 45 to 40 profile you wont notice the difference. I couldnt fulllock with 45 profile and i swapped to 40 profile and worked fine.
Barely any physical difference. Front wheels are still tucked and ride height dropped about 10mm

yeah ... the tyre specs you can blame on me, I just put numbers in when I used that calculator :-P

Besides coilovers I don't have any other kit for camber adjustment so right now they're sitting on -2.2 and -2.59

So now you have to pick which direction you want to take the car. Low and hard parked (Like me with ****ed up guards)
or keep it functional. Keeping it functional then you shouldnt care about wheel gaps

Or just be a fully hektic guy and let it rub. Eventually it will rub out the bumper tab or if its the actual bumper then sand it back and get some touch up paint ;)

Actually ... Have you considered getting the rear guard pumped out?

Simple solution: Get camber kit and add more negative camber. Or roll on higher offset wheels.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Symphorced again.

planning on getting a set of 17x8.5 +33 with 225/45 for ep3. stock height. any issues?

will hit your guards on bumps as the stock sussy is too soft. i test fitted 17x7.5 +30 225/45 which sits 10mm in more than your proposed setup

on the rear you might be able to get away with a roll and camber kit, but still look gay as fuk lol

A mate of mine gets around on a set of Advan RGII's which are similar offsets, 17x8.5 +31 with 225/45's all round. Scrubs a bit under hard cornering in the rear and when the back seats are loaded up.

I've been spending my night trying to workout what wheels will fit my FD Civic but with no success. Its currently got the 15" steel wheels, and I've found a set of wheels that i'm pretty interested in. I was able to find the following info about them: 17 x 7 inch - 5 on 114.3 mm - 42 mm offset. I was wondering if these would fit the civic? Any help would be appreciated!

they'll fit with no issues, the stock sports wheels are 17x7 +45, so your wheels are only going to protrude 3mm more than the stock wheels.

Will I have a problem running 17x7.5+30 215/45 or 225/45 on BC BR coilovers? (no guards rolled) or would I still require a camberkit and guards rolled?

depends how low you are. you might be able to clear it with natural camber on 215, but id still go with a roll and 225. run -1.5 camber and its flush as fuk good daily fitment

I'd say u may face problems but would really depend how low you are and how much camber. I would suggest rolling guards as well. I'm on 17x7 +24 on 215/45 and lots of scrub when it was lowered past the tyre. Had to raise it about an inch so there was gap between wheel and guard and now only scrubs when I hit dips in the road. On the other hand, I previously had 17x8 +35 and that was perfect with guards rolled and low.

Is negative camber really required to run 17x7.5+30 on 215/45?

Cause Im thinking maybe I can just get the guards rolled and raise the car up if it is required to, to run that set up.

At the moment, Im running stockies 17x7+45 on 215/45 and its just about 2-3cm above the tyres. At a good height, no scrubs or anything.

I have a FD civic vti, a friend is giving me his alloy wheels, 17x7 offset is 40 and I think the tyres are 215/45/17 or 225/45/17. Will it fit ok ? Tbh, I don't really understand the stuff about offset.

8 inch should be good with 225/45/17 or 235/45/17

no sure of the offset, but they look like drifteks.

Ive fitted the wheels today, the rear gaurds skim the tyres when going over speed humps and turning hard. would probably scrape all way if 3 people were to sit at the back. Didnt have problems up front.

The sizing looks good but does not love bumps. Should i go down one size in width or height of tyre?

255/40 is pretty ridiculous on an 8" rim. Should've gone 225/45/17 or 235/45/17 as Yonas suggested.

Most likely. Especially on hard corners or with a full car.
225/40 or 225/45 is the highest i would go. No matter how wide my rims are..

What are you running? Coilovers? If you have coilovers. Instead of spending money in stiffer springs.

Most likely. You MIGHT be fine driving alone but having passengers in the back might rub.

Varies on size of rim and width
17x9 = 215/45 has abit of stretch

17 x 9 +35 at the front
17 x 8 +32 at the rears

Any problems with EP3 running these specs? Gimme some information guys !

Well im not really running low... Im more of a track spec so my car is up at a good height so I dont scrub my lip when going over bumps. What would be the best tyre size for 17x8 at the rears with natural camber?

Im not too experience with track set up but for a 8 inch wheel, i would go for 225/45.

Depending on your height, you may clear it without camber arms because i had 215/45 on 17*9+22 on the rears at one stage. This was on Tein springs and natural camber.

Looking for a set of rims for my FD civic, would i have any problems with 18x8.5 +40 ?
