the reason why i went with the 18" setup was coz it matched the OEM setup on the 15" rims and tyres.. the only thing i had to research up on was the offset and 42+ is reasonable

and be aware that different setups to OEM can affect ur speedometer and the amount of km's stacked up on the car as it would read differently

the setup ive got on is the closest to stock speedometer readings

with the setup ur going for, you may be able to fit on 225/40 tyres however 45+ is pushing it close to the brakes and suspension, better yet to ask tyre fitting dealers

I bought my 06 civic an a little while ago and lowered it and slapped some rims on in the first few days….

Ive been too busy/hung over/lazy to get a wheel alignment. The tyres had only done 200k and had been balanced (right dez?)

So, today I thought its time to get one done hence the new wheels/lowered springs/whatever.

Take it to a place near my work (not Jax. **** jax.) and they said my car is to low to get up on the ramps!?!?!?!?!?!

I have 18’s with a little tuck but its definitely not super dumped…

lmfao, ive been through 11 sets of rims so far and i havent got a wheel alignment yet, keep putting it off

kept on changing rims, kept on adjusting my suspension, felt like a waste of money if i got it realigned everytime (also the car is still going straight so its okay)

ill defiantly get it done when my new suspension goes in

al, go to capital steering and suspension, in fyshwick. very good service and stuff.
they have in-ground jacks.. so you can be 1 mm off the ground and make it onto the ramps.

all the lowered cars go there.

those are very similar specs to what stig is running atm, but 1mm less. and his got a 9" at the rear.

don't be too alarmed when i say this because its reallly nothing.

1. you might need to get your rear arches lipped. honda liped them already but did a sh!!t job of it, but just get them flattened out.. if you get a reputable person to lip your rears, they wont crack the paint.. the reason your paint cracks is because the paint or metal which is being stretched is not heated up enough, or they did too much to soon, and the paint which is on the metal is therefore trying to expand with the metal being stretched.. so heating the metal before stretching is required... its like when paint drys on your skin and you dont heat it before you stretch your skin.. but also if they over heat the metal/paint it can bubble.. but the person lipping your arches shoul know when to stop PROVIDED HE IS GOOD AT IT... make sense?

2. run a 215/35r19 just to be on the safe side. you can run a 225/35r18 if you wanted.. but you run the risk of scrubbing the tire on the outside of the front and possibly the inside on the rear.

but i really dont know first hand, although, im just taking a pretty decent educated guess because my 18"s were doing that. on the 225/40r18.

the shape of the tire also comes into play, depends if it has a strong side wall and also if the tire is shaped with sharper edges or curved edges, where it changes from the sidewall to the tread.

3. you will most likely get scrubbing on the front guards if you dont rip them out.. which you shouldnt do anyhow.

during the course of your first few weeks driving on these new rims provided you get the 19x8 +38, you will wear/scrub away the area needed to be worn away on the plastic guard, so they will wear themselves a gap to move if you get what i mean..

if you hear different noises to the plastic guards wearing away you will need to attend to it yourself.. not sure what that problem will be tho.

your rims were .5" of a inch wider then the rims he is getting.

therefore they will have been 6mm wider on either side on an 8" rim which is a big difference.

and the fact that you ran a 235 tire is pretty pointless, as a 225 is made for a 8" rim but a 205 or 215 can also fit perfectly over the 8.5" rim.. therefore you had too much surface area for tread hence why you had a shit time with those rims.

but im sure you will already know this.

just brought my civic and had the wheels changed straight away. theyre just 18x8 on 225/40 and very happy with the results!

I traded down from the euro to save on money.. so now I'm realising what a struggle its become not being tempted to spend more.. :(
