can u k20 conversions the FD? is it costly?
FD2's already ahve K20z2's in them, so it shouldn't be too difficult.... i guess.
i guess z2-z4 shouldn't be too different...
oh i thought the FD has the r18 or something my bad thanks
it does but the 2 litre sport has k20z
i think its time for my evo 9... when i start earning some money and get off Ps.. =D
i think its time for my aston martin db9.. when i finish my masters degree and start working lmao..
one can only dream for now, ha!
Hey guys, sorry its a random question would the JDM DC5R Rims fit on the Civic FD? 5 X 114.3. 17 x 7 inch +60 Offset.
thanks
should fit but not recommended if you are planning to lower the car on coils in the future, you also might experience some rubbing against the rear plastic lining
unless u use spacers
25mm hub centric spacers should do the trick
http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/a...bbda61a4_o.jpg
looks good on 8th gen civics, didn't know offset was that high though, might need to run spacers
thanks guys for the info, spacers i heard bad stories about them. wheel falls off, and the studs on the spacers break / rip out of the hole etc..
so whats the go with that? any idea on what i should do or which spacers in particular, and yes i will being thinking about lowering the car on coils with Jdm dc5r rims
cheers
cheap replica spacers tats probably why... so should get the good reputable brands of spacers.. try contacting jdmconcept or jdmyard about tat
thats why you use hubcentric spacers

Or just buy some white cr kais. =]. Similar look. But of course more expensive
id say it should be ok
http://firesport.com.au/work-cr-kai-...--ad147844.htm
awesome stance for the civic
stig, they look too dished :S
and is that in perth!!
no dish. but epic concave-ness. would look great on the fd, but would take some work to make them fit with that +30 offset
^sry thats wha ti meant, lol.
would that need epic fender rolling?
i didnt end up having to sand calipers mate, first time i test-drove it i heard some scraping so took wheel off, re-fit it and then after that its been fine :) just barely clears though
theres no way of running those cr kai on normal coils (they will not fit and would cause epic scrubbage), you need airbags and stretched tyres, but thats a perfect example of running hella flush lol
so the jdm dc5r rims are good to go on my FD with spacers? so whats a good size spacer ? also im planning to drop it with coilovers later in the future
i would really advise getting coils first so you know if the wheels would fit after.
well the thing is i dont have the rims yet, but will be purchasing it if its good to go on the car
25mm spacers...
example - if the dc5r wheels are +45 and i get 10mm spacers it'll be roughly in the right spot yeah? .. or is my understanding of offset wrong? :S
whats the width and what do you mean right spot? right spot of a 17x7+45 rim?
25mm would that make the rims sit flush with my fenders?
you would need like 40mm+ spacer (which is unheard of) to make it flush with the fender, max is a 25mm spacer on the market (correct me if im wrong). that 25mm spacer would be enough for you to lower the car on coils and run some -ve camber at the front etc
ok thanks for the info, i was just planning to drop it on coils no camber etc.. i was just goggling earlier for wheel spacer n theres 30mm spacers.. would that be better off if i can get my hands on them?
if they are hubcentric wheel spacers then go for it, if not, then i wouldnt recommend, but wheel spacers usually set you back an arm n leg (~300-400$)
if you are really keen to make this work why not just get some 17" work cr kai
yea i wanted to get them before but my bro has them on his sportivo i see them everyday so..plus people already have them on there FDs so why not be different i havent seen anyone with Jdm dc5r rims yet on a FD if not then all well i like these rims anywayz
oh yea i was planning to throw on some Accord Euro Lux Rims the 9 spokes one till i saw the jdm dc5rs rims which really caught my eyes ;)
accord euro lux rims wont fit if you decide to run on coils, still need a 25mm spacer, i found that out the hard way...
oh... so you also tried to fit them too, the rims doesnt look so bad too.. well i got a set laying around if anyone wants them.. Accord Euro Lux Rims
lol yea, ive been through almost every 17" honda rim
i see, so what did you ended up riding on?
19" works t1s
wow... looks hectic how much u get them for? howz the fitting on them?
running 19x9+38 front and 19x8+38 rears
for pricing check www.jdmconcept.com.au :)
hmm very pricey tho.. well i guess what you pay is it what you get nice rims btw
dude stig how do u work out the offset / what size rim + width + offset is flush lol?
hopefully new job soon so either just dump and get wheels for this car or save for a weekenderr
going through 11 sets of rims and using trial and error? lol
pretty much nething 8" wide and in the 30s will give you flush
high or low 30's? seems you guys aim for ~35 ?
if you REALLY want flush (stretched tyres and all), high 20s, we go for ~35 cos thats the only specs most rims come in
lol.. 11 sets.. haha
how many shoes you bought since you started modding this car ;)
ive been through 7 sets of rims
been talking to someone about getting 18x9.5 +20 what u think?
this is my first car... LOL
9.5+20 for the front or rear? you might be running poke than flush, if so you need to camber the hell outta it and run urber stretched tyres lol
j's racing spacer is value for money]
http://jdmconcept.com.au/forum-image/parts401.png
front and rear.. i prob wont go it..
i want x8.5 +30 =] or close to that
ur all crazy.
hella flush baller style crazy
love hellaflush

hey has anyone done any ecu or flash type things to their FD's?
i was browsing about it and saw this little bit on the hondata ecu stuff now supporting the asian FD
V1.1.3.2 Changes:
• [CTR - South Africa] Added to list of supported models (CTR Euro & some Race calibrations).
• [Civic Si - Mexico] Added to list of supported models (US & Race calibrations).
• [Civic Si - South America] Added to list of supported models (US & Race calibrations).
• [Civic 155hp - Asia] Added to list of supported models (Race calibrations only).
i'm also curious about resetting the ecu battery trick thing. my battery crapped out the other day and i got a new one. the car was without battery for an hour or so. when i took it out with the new battery the car definitely felt quicker when i put my foot down.
i got the feeling because i picked it up 2nd hand from an interstate sales women that she did lots of long slow driving on it and the ecu was preset that way. btu seeing im more a lead foot it's changing for me.
has anyone else had this experience after resetting?
hi stig! i really like your wheels. i checked the works t1 and there's no 17"?
I don't want to modify much on the car that's why I'm contented with the 17"
if there ain't one, i was hoping i could find one that's almost the same and hopefully a lil bit cheaper
you're wheels will always be an inspiration for me :)

they make 15" to 21" excluding 17" LOL
LOL!
so just 15, 16, 18, 19, 20?
LOL!
how do you guys get to try so many sets of wheels? do you buy and replace, buy and replace? they do look good btw
buy, use, get sick of, sell
while using ( drive safe and dont live in the gutter )
haha good tip, so you get good resale value huh?
buy the right rims and they will maintain their value.
(i.e. NOT ozzy tyre/ tempe rims.)
you will always loose money on tires unless you can sell them separately with 80%+ meat left..
tires depreciate because you have wear and tear on them.. =].
be mindful, there must always be someone looking for those same rims your trying to sell at the price you have them up for.
hey does anybody want any biggish parts from this site:
http://www.rstyleracing.com/?Categor...70923142106527
im looking to get a carbon hood sent over by sea and yeh wondering if anyone wanted to share shipping costs =P.
http://www.rstyleracing.com/index.as...91119145659740
that's pretty neat.
How much is the shipping anyway?
Might be interested in a few things...
by sea - its 7000 THB - which is around 230 AUD. so yeh would be great if people wanted to share shipping costs =D.
yehsss =]. what items u interested in?
ooh =D. good site ehs hahah
nope its just 230ish AUD all up. we pick it up from the port ourselves.
yehh but if u split it between people its good =D. ah unfortunate =[.
how annoying is that f1 sound on the site. god
