just convenience, i'm not used to having a low car, my old dc2r was stock height.
how low are you guys running for street day to day use?
how much lower are the tien springs?
i'm on SS but i'm not too low. my car measures around 64cm from top of guard to ground.
doesn't scrap anything but i have 18" wheels with 225/40/18 so the car is raised slightly.
tein springs are around 1.5" lower... its mainly cos of the after market exhaust i think that it sits pretty low
clearance looks like 10cm
if we have a photoshoot please let me know cos im a little bit of a photography guy lol
anyone here knows how to pull the door trims off? need to adjust my window glass on the reg, they r a bit loose atm.
thx guys
random question boys, just wondering if you c-package boys have a light/s near your windscreen (so you can see your cup holders and shit at night) or is it just the middle lights which turn on when your doors open?
If u mean map lights for driver and front passenger, then yes we have a pair near the windscreen.
Push the silver trim off from the door handles, there is a small hole at the base where u can use a hex key to push the silver trim out. Which then exposed some screws. U need to undo those screws, then pull off the black trim near the mirrors. Do that very carefully as the clips snap very easily. Then check if there is screw near the silver door catch thing, undo them if there are some and I should be able to pull the door trim off.
Pull from the bottom and side, there should be a few clips around and make sure u don't damage them. Then u should be able to lift the trim off the top. Also make sure the door catch is clear. U will then need to unplug the power window plug and the trim should now be free.
Ey anyone got defi gauges?? I'm looking to get some when I go hk next week... Any idea if tere is a defi hood cover for ep3??
anyone know what is the max depth for speakers i can fit in the doors without modifications?
i removed the trim once before, and forgot to note down the size. I have gathers speakers.
has anyone got hasport engine mounts in their ep3? any comments on ride comfort? i heard it gets softer over time is this true?
but i'd imagine MK prices aren't cheap......
TKW has a few shops or u'll have to travell to YL.
i dun have hasport but i have engine mount inserts (which is less hardcore) and u only really notice the vibration when u stop, however u'll hear a lot more rattles and they tend to come and go depends on the rpm.
Aw k I heard usually mk shops are over priced like top racing. Will have to find someone to take me to YL. That seems like the place to go..
The 2nd hand parts for sale in options, are they private sales or via shops??
places in MK are just normal prices.....dun the exchange rate between Jap Yen and HKD.......plus you need to know them to get some good price....
If you travel to YL you really need to know where to go...there are million of places have 2nd hand parts but not everyone have parts for EP3.......and if you are just some random ppl walk in believe me their price ain't cheap too.....unless you know them......
Hey friends, are camber bolts the only way to adjust front camber on stock sussy? Anybody know where to get some aswell?
^ I have energy suspension engine mount inserts.
im pretty sure they dont get any softer, ive had mine for awhile and still the same, if they were to get softer then wats the point in hasport innovative etc making stronger engine mounts if there gonna get soft again? prob best go with poly inserts like phillip
if u want the softest ones id be looking at 60A, 70 + will kill u unless u wanna track. if i were u go for the 60A, hasport only make 62A so id be a tiny bit more stiff but i doubt id be that noticable
i have headers installed with a loud exhuast, I want to be rid of the loud exhaust and was wondering if I could keep the headers and use the stock exhaust, or am i better off leaving it until i can afford a fujitsubo exhaust?
what headers do u have?
just get a high flow cat on stock exhaust with ur headers, should be fine until u can get enough for rmo1a, maybe u should try the new range from j's racing?
1 more thing i forgot to mention.
apart from rattle noise, the car seems louder after installing inserts. i have spoon street muffler which is quite quiet and i dont know who bad it will be if u have loud exhaust.
Hi guys I recently got buddyclub racing spec coil overs installed in my car and there is a clunking sound whenever I come 2 a complete stop or excellerate hard. I've checked over all the bolts and they seem tight. I think it mainly the fronts that do this. Is it normal? Or is it the camber tops making the noise? Thanks
saw a ep3 today in toowong, anyone here???
Yes, I am going through insurance for this repair...and they have provided me with a stupid shitty slow Corolla...I'm just trying to see whether I can find the part myself and pay the panel beater any difference to just get my car ASAP...It's been out for 2 months now.
twest,
hey guys i'm thinking of getting new tyres currently running 205/45/17 on the stock rims
is it ok to run 215/45/17 on the front and 205 on the rear?
check your pm twest
hi guys,
i know this is pretty stupid considering i have the only non-cpackage ep3 lol...
but the other night, the window lever (to open and close the window) fell off and when i put it back on, i forgot the base. any idea on how to take it off now T_T (note this is not power windows, its the manual windy thingo)
cheeers
no i dont see any problem. If you choose to put thicker at the front for that bit of extra grip by all means go for it. Howeva when i was looking up tyre sizes when i was shopping for some rubber i found out that the 205/45/17 was more expensive then the 215/45/17 nfi why. Weird
i use to have noises with my RSD's after driving for awhile, they just kept loosening up a lil and just needed abit of tightening. Just take it back to where u got them installed and show them the noise. They problem didnt tighten something up enough. Also check that ur spring doesnt freely spin. It should sit pretty firm in the coilover because if its not and when u turn the spring turns and move hence creating a annoying noise :S BUT i could b wrong ! lol Best get it checked out by the people that installed them
Tri y 4-2-2 headers with skunk2 exhaust
How much are rm01's going for these days?
Or alternatively, anyone want to swap my skunk2 with something more quieter?
I love the sound, but as an everyday car waking up the entire unit complex every morning is no longer sustainable.
genuine one???
^ I thought u are selling your car? Lol
buddy club RSD on my ep3 was fine no noises what so ever me and the guys installed them aswell only problem i had on them were they didint go low enough... =/ other then that was happy with them
could be loose bolts or spring movement but yeah not sure make sure tops are tight and just double check everything
or just get someone that does suspensions to check it out or the guy you got that installed it
how much!
spotted a fellow ep3 at Kingsgrove this afternoon anyone here?
hey guys finally looking into getting a ep3! :D waiting for the next one to come in at img next week or the one after for a test drive and hopefully get it. opted for a s2k/dc5r to avoiding another lux car but nah i started with a civic gonna drive another civic ahahas. both those cars were appealing but after looking at ep3s around sydney, the body grew on me. rarity or so is what i think is good about it not many around unlike dc5's for the same price.
anything i should be looking out for ? i mainly know of the package c and probably need to buy new mounts is that right?
thanks buddy
hahaha have u guys been following the fd2r vs fn2r thread which just got closed?? i lol'd so much when fasthonda compared a ep3 to a megane rs26 lol
It's what happens when someone starts talking shit about other peoples cars... When they the one driving something worse lol! But it was funny.. An ep3 as a bread van hahahahhahahahahahaha makes me proud
bread vans are sick man ;)
getting back OT.
for ppl who run inverted tie rod end, do you have play on the steering wheel after a while?? (read that on clubRSX forum), has it been reliable? does it need regular maintenance? do they really improve handling?
i am running Tein SS and lowered by 2cm (running 225/40/18 so only 1 finger gap between guard). the car starts to develop slight clicking noise when i turn the steering wheel at low speed. before the SS, the clicking noise barely happened. i think my steering rack need some lube but i wonder if i should also get some tie rod ends to reduce the steering arm angle to reduce stressing the steering rack. however after doing some research, it seems the rod ends will wear and develop play in the steering.
i think my car doesn't have bad bump steer but it definitely tramlines a bit. will get wheel alignment sorted once the springs have settled and if i should get tie rod ends, i'd rather get it done b4 alignment to save $$.
also anyone installed steering arm bracket?? do we need to replace the washers and rings? can we buy them locally?
thanks
Syd guys up for a cruise/photoshoot/yum yum this weekend?
sundays a no-go for me.. got a work-related outing to jamberoo hahah
so i have brown juice all over my engine mount, this thread tells me it means my mount is munted. suggestions? how much is a stock set of DC5/EP3 engine mounts just for reference?
its my drivers side mount btw
can prob pick oem for 50-100 buckaroo 2nd hand. wash that oil off. It stains!
the whole set or just that side? yeah.. any stain in my bay is very unwelcome lol that sh*t was cleaned ASAP.
Usually just the one mount. You never know! Just ask around someone's bound to have one laying around!
FYI if you didn't know. Its the same as DC5!
