Anybody know what I should do about painting my rims when the wheels have deep gutter scratches. Like bad gutter rash not just on the lip but on the wheel stars themselves? Is there like a metal putty/filler I can use before painting?

as you can see, used a lid to cover wheel spkes, was to lazy to tape/newspaper off tyres so got another wheel and sprayed tyres....
of course, its better taping off the tyres
nice looking gen2 you got there, do you have an intro thread??
I would love to see more pics of it..........
LOL very innovative with the plate covering the spokes.. nice work and looks great!
is it ok if i dnt sand paper de rims man??would be find??
the finished result relies a lot on the prep side so i say no.. w/o sandpaper wont be great
yea.. like .k. said, prepping is the important for a good finish. i used 400-800 grit wen i spray my other set of wheels
also i think during prep etc, sanding the wheels down helps to scuff the surface up a bit so paint is able to "stick" better?
how long did it take to do all four?
back then it took me and my mate all day, now a days it takes 2-3 hrs including sanding
