hey guys,
i was just wondering when does Vtec engage in a Integra DC2?
As my car makes a clicking noise at 4 1/2 g's????
i know this may sound unusual but many people that have been in my car hear the same noise.... Vtec then opens at 6g's??
Does any have a clue why this occurs??? your comments would be appreciated.
By the way.. i dont have a Vtec controller either. :confused:
vtec should cut in around 5200 - 5500, with our hearing the noise its really hard to say what it could be.

mine does the same. Put a pod filter on and you will really hear it!
Vtec kicks in at 4,400 rpm....then at 6,000 rpm the secondary intake runners open up.

dc2R doesn't have have secondary intake runners.

Not sure about that...i'm not saying that im right, but from what i have read its vtec first then intake runners.
Stage 1 (0-4400 RPM): Low-lift cam lobe and long intake runners.
Stage 2 (4400-5800 RPM): High-lift cam lobe and long intake runners.
Stage 3 (5800+ RPM): High-lift cam lobe and short intake runners.
"Most people confuse the opening of the short intake runners as VTEC engagement because of the dramatic change in sound. It is hard to hear VTEC at 4400 RPM using the dual-stage intake manifold because the long runners restrict flow volume to the engine in order to maintain flow velocity."
"VTEC engagement is 4400 rpm, the secondaries open up at 5800 rpm"
