diff between b18c6 and b18c7??

hi guys

i'm new here and would like 2 know the diff between the 2 JDM engines.

i was thinking of buying a civic hatch gl 5th gen and putting in either one of those 2 engines.

i have read threads about this engine swap b4, but i wont have a half cut car 2 use parts, i will be getting an engine from japan and would like 2 know if the swap requires alot of fiddling or not.

i read somewhere else b4 that i need to change my ecu, but other than that it's plug and play, any diff with a JDM engine?

Not quite sure, but I believe the c5 is the US spec, c6 is Euro spec, and c7 is Aus spec b18c Type R engines.

oh ok.. so i should be looking to get the b18c7 if i want 2 fit it into the 5th gen civic?

but wat else do i need? i read that i need the interga mounts, and ecu, and thats about it..

yes it will b a straight fit

but u need to change everything like brakes and sussy and stuff

too power full for a light body

and it wont b easy getting a ITR engine or letalong a halfcut

They're not impossible to come by, although you might have to wait a little longer than usual. Don't know about the west coast but surely there is an importer/wrecker who'll be able to source one?

here is the deal, i can get a b18c7 or 6 from japan, but the thing is, it's only the engine.

he told me that since labour is not cheap in japan, they dont have time to use spanner and crap and so they just cut everything including wires.

is that a good idea? or do i have to find a half cut? can i use stock 92 civic hatch brakes? for now if i'm not going so hard, and wat about the legal side of it?

another problem was parts if the engine was stuffed. are they readily avaiable here?

if u get a b18c from japan
most likely it will be JUST a b18c .. not a 7 .. if its a b18c7 it will be from australia ?

as i said in the other post .. just getting the engine isnt a good idea..
with a half cut .. its like a box of goodies that u get .. the ecu , wires, etc etc ..
that u will have problems replacing straight from honda .. very expensive..

i wouldnt recommended using 92 civic hatch brakes .. especially if you have a lower model .. and have drum brakes at the rear ..

its gonna cost u a shitload btw.. and its been done before ..
i think your best bet .. imo .. is to either get a vtir b18c .. or else
just sell your car and get an itr in stead ..

There are better methods of realising naturally aspirated power (better meaning cost effective). Thought of turbo?

but isn't it harder 2 find a half cut ITR? and doesn't it cost quite a bit?

so thats y i'm trying to see which is the best option. i know i will have to change the brakes, and buy an ecu, throttle cable? or is it hydrolic? does the transmission connect straight to the engine?

in the dark again. i can get the engine for cheap though, thats y i'm considering it.
