with recent fuel prices being the way they are, I was thinking of trying 95ron in my DC2R for a while and seeing how it goes as the recommended fuel is 'premium unleaded' which afaik is 95 and above.
does anyone here run their Type R on 95 on a regular basis?
if so how do u find it? ie. response, fuel economy ect.

It's prolly fine..... but I'll be sticking to 98 octane.
ive only had mine for a week and so far running it on 95, ive done about half a tank and done nearly 300k's, still goes pretty hard. doesnt seem to effect performance that much, but as i said ive never run it on 98!
98 all the way!!!! used to put in a bit of unleaded fuel and what i notice is top end power around 7000 rpm it pings, but i always use 98, i say if you can afford a R what's $1.25p/l??? hehaehahe
You'll probably notice slightly better economy out of 98 fuels anyway (btw, BP Ultimate ownz all other 98 ron petrol). Also, BP Ultimate (and the others) contain stuff to keep your engine clean aswell.
P.S. I have a DC2 VTi-R and I would only put 98 ron into it.
Think about it like this if your too tight on spending the extra cash.
The next time you go and have coffee with your friends just don't have anything, that'll make up the difference.
may i ask how did u manage close to 300km and still not 1/2 way through ur tank? or did u mean ur odo is close to 300km?Quote:

Don't worry I'm not doubting those numbers but I find it normal. Most I ever got was 380ks out of a full tank and I drive pretty normal tho, change gears bout 3000rpm, but no highway driving.Quote:
