195/50/15 has smaller profile so your wheels will look smaller making your car lower
I always had 55 series tyres on my EK4 and it handled good  But in theory, the 50 series should have less sidewall flex, therefore better handleing.
Personally I dont think it really matters. They are both fairly similar, but depending on what size wheels your car originally came with, if its a EG I think I would go 50.
oicic, do you guy know how much different on the speedo? coz the different size of the tyre?
i would go to what Honda plaque card says.
i know that EK4 says 195/55/15 so thats what i use.
I went from 50 profiles when I bought my car to 55 profiles when I had to buy tyres. 195/55 was the factory fit tyre on my 95 Vti-R.
There were three differences I noticed:
1. 195/50/15 tyres were cheaper.
2. With the 195/55's my car no longer scraped on the speedhumps at work (stock height).
3. With the 195/55's it looked better because the tyres were a little taller and they filled out the guard better.
Yes, the 195/50's will make a difference to your speedo rading but not much (and if I recall the difference in profile is within legal limits if that is a factor for you).
how about getting 185/55 (or something similar) tyres over 195 rims? would that help with sidewall flex since the tyre is stretched over the rim?
dunno about sidewall flex, but you would have less rubber to make contact with the road, therefore it will be less effective.
Id go the 55 over the the 50, simply because the 50 series will look small and will throw your speedo out slightly. It will though however help your car accelerate slightly faster due to the smaller roilling diameter.
would it be possible to get 200/45/15's?
This is assuming he has a EK4. I haven't worked it out yet, but if he had a EG, due to the smaller std rim size, he might need the 50 series to keep the outside diamater the same when using the larger 15" rim.Quote:

I only ran 55 on my EK4, but on my ED I will run 50. 55 is too big for a car that came with 13" rims stock  Looks funny too.....
never seen that size beforeQuote:
