For sure. It would have been manual. Prolly had a CAI for some extra kw, but totally plausable.
The sorts of times recorded by Wheels for a stock Euro are about (from memory without looking it up) 8.2 seconds for the 0-100 km/h and about 15.8 for 400 m -- and Wheels do their correvit tests with 2 people and (I think) a full tank of fuel, averaged over several runs.
So the time there is quite realistic with only one person in the car.
I always remember that Wheels had recorded (looking at the stats in the back, although obviously recorded under different conditions) the exact same times for a manual base Euro as an automatic (NA) BA XR6.
Plenty of people have got around that time so nothing special
Interested to know the launch and gear changing techniques to get a time like that but I reckon its definately doable.
yep - it's been done more than once
So whats more worthwhile, in terms of speed? CD5 with H22A conversion.. or a EURO?
h22a is probably gonna be quicker, and more parts available for modding i'd guess. k24a is said to have good potential tho...
nah k series rule . h22a is becoming a little old skool. classic if u know wat i mean. K series is present now the real in thing
.
In my opinion, only 2 things limit the K24A. It's long stroke, and the cylinder filling efficiency. At high RPM (I think Hondata reported above 6000rpm), there is very little way of increasing the torque short of going FI. Hence you can't get that nice torque bump that the K20A, B16b, B18C's have at that last 1000-2000rpm.
i thing 15.4 is prett6y good considering the car is so ****ing heavy and beside, for a na family car that not bad at all..
i think cai, extractors, vafc2 , exhaust and bored out throttlr bodie can do mid 14.sec.
Vtec_inside - i think it'd take more than just "cai, extractors, vafc2 , exhaust and bored out throttlr bodie" to get into the mid 14's. Well it takes more than that for a TSX to get there , i know that much.
maybe the best way to get big power with the k24 is mild FI?
